I think I read somewhere that they are facing prosecution.. and rightly so if you ask me. Isn't one of them a former police officer??

Do you think they did this to be funny? Or gain money? I read somewhere that they were charging a fee of $2.00 per person to view the photographs.. (I'm not sure which one did that..) But there were SO many people curious about it, that they paid it.. times that by hundreds.. if not thousands of people.. that's a good chunk of change!

I thought that was good, My one thought...when they turned on the Salamander..they should have started to smell burning rubber. Those things heat up really fast...and hot.

What I really hope though, is that they have some type of fraud charges brought up. I'm not sure if anyone ever paid them money or any kind of gratuity, but I'm thinking if that was done in some way, they fould go for some type of deception..or being defrauded.

I think if people had to start answering to these hoaxes, they would think a bit before doing the next one.

I couldn't agree more, and I do think they were paid for future promotional fees.. the company that bought rights to "it" paid them as a show of good faith but, they never disclosed how much money was given to them. They also signed a contract, So, right there, they could be in big trouble.

I don't really know, I'm like you and think they should be brought on fraud charges, especially the time and money that a lot of people/reporters put into gathering the info for the story.

Can you imagine how the reporters feel? Like they really had the wool pulled over their eyes. I think many thought just like you & I..hoping there was something to it that was real for a change. A few others were probably forced by their network bosses to go. Either way, I hope they get the chances to face them in court..Maybe another media trial, Like the O.J. circus.

Probably.. I did find out though, that they were given $50,000.. and that was before they had the body tested.. why would anyone do that??

It must be because they thought they were reliable.. the one who was a police officer.. lost his job.. I guess he proved to everyone he couldn't be trusted..

I think the $50,000 was paid in advance, so no one else could cover the story? Talk about getting burned. That's what greed will do.

Wonder what the ex-cop will do now? You think he will assume an alias and try to be a cop from a different state now? I could see something like that happen. He may also just be open about it...you know, play on the publics sympathy saying what an idiot he was. And try reclaiming his life that way. Would be interesting if we could follow this through, but I'm thinking in 3 or 4 weeks..it will all be forgotten.

I wonder if it was worth his cut of the $50,000 to lose his job. Did they claim taxes on it...another thought. That's more than I make in a year.

Well.. from what I read, they are BOTH in a heap of debt.. so if you figure you divide that between the two.. they still didn't come out very well.. even if they show themselves back in public.. the money they got from that is not going to help them a whole lot..

They probably left the country.. emoticon
