Shape Shifters
I'm thinking on starting a few stories I've found about this on my site.
What's your opinion...something to them...or purely garbage? Goes back a long time.

I've heard of them.. I haven't really investigated it too much, but you know me, I'm open to just about anything.
I believe anything is possible, ancient folklore, and even native american cultures believed in such things.
I've also heard them explained as possible extraterrestrials... (could explain a lot!) But, I really don't know much about it to really give an opinion.
I would really be interested in anything you find.

I'm finishing up a story about a Russian UFO crash right now ( Height 611 ) Once that is finished I'm going to check into it more.
I've seen images of old paintings and sketches on the topic and it looked very interesting. And the entire idea seems very plausible, I'm going to see what I can find out, if there is enough good info or if it's sketchy.

Cool.. I think that would make an interesting addition to your site.
In my metaphysics class, I just finished up a lesson on herbs and natural medicine. It talked about how ancient cultures used forms of herbs for illnesses.. everyone knows that native americans used them too.. and would even have visions of things during their quests.
Could it be possible that these images were produced from the medicines? They were all very spiritually and earthly connected, which could also be the reason behind the shapeshifting.. maybe a combined source of the two?

Again...you said it well.
I was wondering if it is a real thing...which would be pretty fantastic if you think about it...to change or morf from a human do a chicken or a dog, and then back again. Almost anything would be possible, you could change to a fly...get into an underground base.. or a presidential cabinet meeting ( With George that would be way boring )
But I keep wondering..could shape shifting really happen, or was it a drug induced memory put on canvas? You know...Peyote or something.

That's a good question.. I really don't know. But I'm sure scientists would say it is impossible.. to covert matter by will.. that would take some major supernatural skill. Although, I have heard that spirits can manifest into a form that you could recognize, or even an angel might appear as a wounded dog, so you might stop and avoid an accident.. (or something similiar to that).
As for humans to be able to transform themselves that way, I don't know if it would be possible.. but it does make for some good stories..

I'm tending to agree with your thoughts there. I think for a mortal human it would be almost impossible, I guess nothing is really impossible. I think if an individual did have a skill or ability, that individual may not be human, as we know it. It could be a genetic thing, or possibly an individual from a future time.

I agree. I don't think we could have the ability to do it. I know that deep meditation can do some pretty powerful things, but I don't know about transformation. That would be the only way.. humanly possible, I could think of.
But, I do think there are so many things we still don't understand.. whatever it is might be so far advanced, that even if someone explained it.. we probably couldn't grasp the idea of it.

My thoughts, That's one reason I mentioned from a future time. Who knows what will be then? Maybe some of the organs we have now in our bodies will have further developed...or new ones appear, and we have capabilities that today are only available in D..C. Comic Books.
I'm thinking we have 5...or is it 6 different organs in our bodies that the scientists have know clue about. Maybe at some point they will have a purpose...either individually, or in tandem with other organs?

Good thoughts.. I'd have to agree and say that I believe that we were once very aware of psychic abilities, maybe even the ability to shapeshift too..
I think it was a very primative ability.. and once we began to become more "civilized" certain primative abilities were pushed aside.. ( I also think that's why so many people suffer from anxiety.. they've ignored their most primative emotions) Could be why doctors don't understand what certain organs are used for.. we have all learned to not use them.. even fish down deep in the ocean have adapted to having no eyes.. over time, having not used them.. they ceased to be developed.. that might be what will happen to all of us..
That's why I think that ancient cultures really need to be taken seriously, and their religious outlooks.. I think they know more than what we do about so many things.
