Re: Lochness Monster
The Lockness Monster... I'm not sure. Sylvia Browne says that such creatures as this as well as bigfoot, are what she calls "Tuplas" Something that was created by what we believe to exist.
It is believed that everything in the universe is created by thought. If this is true, we could very well "create" such creatures. When you have 1000 people all saying that they saw a big long necked creature stick it's head out of the water, I guess it's possible that with over time, believers could actually create such a creature.
I'm not really sure about it's existence. But I would love to believe that it could be possible..
"I want to believe"..

Re: Lochness Monster
That sounds like something from 'The Forbidden Planet' with the fantastic machine created by the Krell. It's something I never really gave much thought too, but will.
Loch Ness monster...I did a report on it in like 6th grade...got an A on it. I did the report because they had a huge spike in sightings at the time.
Bigfoot / Sasquatch I believe. Remember I lived in the Pacific North West longer than I've lived anywhere else. I was there when Mt. St. Helens blew up. Without a doubt...I believe. Not seen it/them personally, but heard stories from many reliable people about it. It's real.

Re: Lochness Monster
With so many sightings of such things, I can't believe that they can all be made up. Someone had to see them, and recount their existence. Just like that of aliens. Something so far fetched, yet to me it is believable. Only because there is so much that is still unknown.
Why couldn't these creatures be possible..? If there is no such thing as aliens.. it's an awful waste of space don't you think? So why couldn't it be true for other creatures?
I keep a wide open mind when it comes to all of these things.. I remember being a kid, and having the famous bigfoot footage shown on tv. I thought it was the coolest thing.. then it was said it was a hoax. It's almost dissappointing.
I would love to see such things with my own eyes.. who knows, maybe one day that will be possible.
Just to mention to what you were saying.. that part of the US is absolutley beautiful, (never been there, but seen pictures! ) and I don't doubt that many unknown creatures could be lurking through the vast amount of forests within it.
Just like the creatures of the sea. It's hard to say what could be in our own backyard. I want to believe in such things, I can't say that I do without a doubt, but the possiblity of such things is overwhelming.

Re: Lochness Monster
That part of the country is beautiful to say the least. I lived less than a quarter mile from the Pacific Ocean. The things that washed up on shore were in itself pretty amazing. And there are so many other remote and desolate locations it would be very easy for many unknowns to exist.
One thing I've always thought about...you may have as well, but how do we know what wanders around, even locally for either of us, at night. It's dark...there could be a vast array of creatures besides Racoons and Owls that are out there. Even more so in the rural areas.
Not so much like vampires or werewolves...those are good entertainment, but it ends there, but I'm talking real living creatures that we have no clue even exist. It's dark...you couldn't see. And it's their turf, not ours, they would know how to navigate to avoid contact with us.
Just something to think about.

Re: Lochness Monster
I agree. I think we've only begun to figure out a fraction of what actually exists on our own planet. They are still finding new spieces of birds as well as other life every day.

Re: Lochness Monster
The sad part of that, for each new species they find, 50 or so vanish forever. Could you imagine what it would be like to be around in the time of the Dodo bird?

Re: Lochness Monster
I can imagine. Makes me wonder what the world would be like in another 1000 years. (If we have that long...) Do you think that the species that are in this world will evolve in such a manor that we couldn't even recognize?
It would be fascinating to see all the creatures that have been in this world. Or out of this world.. for that matter..

Re: Lochness Monster
Your mind is thinking like mine, Horses were once the size of dogs...we once had gills...What will cats evolve into...will they be capable of speech? What will we be capable of? ( I could relate to another song...but won't )
I'm thinking we will be surprised by what still lives in the depths of the ocean...or inner earth.

Re: Lochness Monster
I agree. I sometimes think, it is probable that we are the alien species some thousand years ahead. Maybe we are coming back in time, trying to figure out what happend, or what changed.. maybe that is why they perform so many tests on us?
Just curious thoughts....
