Re: X-Files: I Want To Believe
I'd love to, but we most often wait until anything is out as a rental. This is just because for 2 people it costs over $50 here to see a movie.
New York is a state for billionairs...Not blue collar people.

Re: X-Files: I Want To Believe
Agghh.. You're kidding!! I thought $7.50 per person was high.. lol.. Well.. I would have to wait too.. I waited to see the first one after it came out on video..
Our matinee is only $5.25.. which is pretty good since they just built a brand new theater in place of the old one.. it's only been around about a year.. and it is amazing.. I can't believe how much bigger it is.
We usually don't go full force with the popcorn and candy.. a bottle of water is nearly $3.00. If you got all the goodies with it, the price would double..
I used to love to go to the drive-in.. we have one a short drive away, but it is nothing like it used to be either. You have to actually use your car stereo to hear the program from a radio station.. (not good for your car, as I found out). My alternator died the very next day..

Re: X-Files: I Want To Believe
Heck...we don't buy popcorn or anything...just way to expensive ( and it's not fresh..it comes out of big bags and just blown around. It's usually $18.00 each, and parking.
I remember buck night at the drive-ins, as many people as you can put in a car for $1 Won't see that any more huh? But I loved them too. Some had playgrounds..some didn't. And a few had 2 screens..could pick which movie you wanted to see.
And usually they had low budget ones. I think the best one I ever saw was 'The Town That Dreaded Sundown' It was a pretty decent movie.
...And then there were the submarine races.

Re: X-Files: I Want To Believe
Yeah, when I was little, a friend of mine lived near a double cinema, and we could look out her bedroom window and watch either one.. (couldn't hear it, but that was pretty cool).
I don't see why it has to cost so much, especially when it's only a couple of hours.. families can't do many things like that anymore, it's just too expensive. And I was wrong.. a bottle of water is $3.80.. small bag of popcorn is $5.00.. For a family of three or four, that's a small fortune!
As for the movie.. we did go see it, (but left out the goodies.. ) It was great.. I'm not going to say anything, but if you are an X-File fan, it is well worth it.. the movie works good for people who don't really know what the X-files is all about either.. (kind of like how they did their last movie..) But the topic has changed..
It was good to see Scully & Mulder again.. As soon as it got dark, and they played the theme.. I was giddy, like a little school girl.. lol.. But, I had a good time, even brought the youngins.. (they didn't have much of a choice though )

Re: X-Files: I Want To Believe
I have not seen many episodes of The X Files. Don't know why, because I like that kind of TV. I wouldn't mind seeing the movie, however, I am not too sure what theater baddco has been going to cause last I knew it was about $7.50 (cheaper for matinee) and parking was free. Clue me in will ya? NY isn't that expensive.

Re: X-Files: I Want To Believe
My first black-eye huh?
I think we're going this week-end.
I was thinking of The Day The Earth Stood Still, but heard it's nothing like the original.
I have to type fast...It's storming really bad, thinking the power might go out. Lightning is so bright you could read the paper by it...if you read fast.

Did I start a fight?? Hope you didn't get into too much trouble..
Yeah, it was storming pretty good here too last night, and this morning. But, now the sun is shining bright, and the humidity is down..
