$700,000,000,000.00 Bail-Out
This is a pretty hot topic, What are your thoughts on it? ( That's a whole lot of zeros huh? )
I don't think we should do it. They got themselves into it, let them reap the harvest of their greed. What's the worst that could happen..our dollar be worthless...it is now. Price of gas goes up...have you filled up recently?
What really &*??$? me off on this whole thing, All the head honchos and CEO's/CFO's who did this to their companies will still be getting multi-million dollar bonuses...Why?
What do we get? Other than higher taxes & smaller paychecks.
Let them fail.

I haven't really watched the news in the last few days.. I tried to look it up online.. but don't really understand what's going on..
So.. is this what it's all about.. helping companies that have overpriced everything? From what I can tell, it looks like it will only help them.. not the general public. Or should I say.. lower and middle class.
Why do these big companies pay their top executives such a high salary? How can these people even begin to understand what the general public is going through? They should live like the rest of us for a year, and then maybe they wouldn't be so greedy.
All in all.. they're still going to get their pay.. and we'll have to continue to pay high prices on everything just to keep them happy.

What it is, is all these super companies who made all these bad loans & Mortgages are losing their shorts because people can't pay their bills. They make it so easy for people, Sue was once told she could afford a house 4 times more pricey than what she bought, They figure that out by hat you owe, but don't calculate in other expenses like food, cars/gas, insurance any other bills you have. So stupid people go out and over extend themselves and default. Now too many are defaulting and these big companies don't want to take it in the shorts, so they think us tax payers should bail them out.
Ain't no way. If you or I were to not make house payments for a year or so, Do you think George W. Bush & his croonies would bail us out? Heck no...we'd be forclosed on and live in a refrigerator carton under a bridge with 75 other people.
And as for their unreal salaries and comissions & bonuses, if they would use their bonuses to pay back the defaulted loans they wrote with high interest rates, they wouldn't need almost a TRILLION dollars now would they.
A person at work said it very well, IF they do get bailed out, All the CEO's / CFO's and anyone involved in the scams and baloon rates on Wall Street and the mortgage companies should be held accountable, they should all be taken to Wall Street, put on display and let us taxpayers decide what to do with them.
These were all sound companies until they all got greedy. Heck...Hang them all. Or put them up for a public stoning.

Well, I completely agree with you. I honestly don't think businesses are out to help anyone but themselves.. I sometimes really wish we still lived in tribes, and hunted together, and protected each other.. even families don't stick together and help each other out anymore.
I don't think bailing them out is going to do any good, their intentions haven't changed, and they will only do the same thing over and over again.. they don't care about personal expenses, they are purposly giving loans to people they know can't afford it, they foreclose, and do it all over again. I think the problem is, that everyone is finally aware of what they're doing.. I think the government should take some kind of action, instead of helping them out.

I don't know what the outcome will be, but the vote failed today. Now Good Old George is going to have a speech in the morning before Wall Street opens for business.
I wonder what he'll whine about now.
One nice thing, a little over 3 months and he "SHOULD" just be a horrible memory. Now..he's truly a Night Terror. In the 8 years he's been in charge, he has screwed up this country so bad it will never be the same.

I heard about that. I also agree with you, I'll be glad to see someone else in office.. anyone HAS to be better than what we have now. Has he even done anything at all to benefit us?
I almost feel sorry for anyone stepping into his place.. having to clean up the mess he's made will be a real job in itself.

I've read that whoever wins this election, they won't have time to clean up Georgies mess, Even if they win a 2nd term. The news and papers indicate it will be 20 years before things are even close to what they were before he took office. That's really bad.
What's worse, your kids will be paying the price for something they had nothing to do with. I'm thinking their generation will be thinking of him as something like Hitler or Stalin.
To answer your question, I personally can't think of anything GOOD the jerk did in the past 8 years.
I just Googled "highlights of the bush administration" And nothing really came up. Try it once... Look at #13 once if you Google it. I'm impressed with myself... I just said that earlier in this post.

Looks like you were right on.. I think the only way to fix what he's done is make complete changes all together. Is it even possible to have a stable government? I personally think that every time a republican gets into office.. the economy ends up suffering. I've never been one to follow politics at all, but it just seems that's always the way it goes.
How I wish that Gore had gotten into office.. can you imagine how things would be right now? Anyone into saving the environment that way, you know is a great humanitarium. I don't doubt for a second that we would have been better off.
I can't vouch for either canidate, but I think either one would be far better than who we have now.

I think they could pick any one off the street, And they would be better than George. I think they could go to any institution...whether it be a prison or a mental health facility and they too could out do George.
He really did nothing good in his 8 years, Got us in a war we don't belong in, Cost thousands of families to lose their sons & daughters. Almost tripled the price of gas. Made us look like complete idiots to the rest of the world...How can that jerk even sleep at night?
