 Genetic memory ... Experienced a 'reconition'.. of a place I was visiting for the first time
This happened when I was 14, I visited 2 places in France and 'recognized' both places... I almost could hear the sounds and sensed the people... however I do not feel it was a haunting... It was more like a 'memory'... sometime later (1 year?) I remembered that I had french ancestors (going way back 14th century) , I have always wondered if such a thing is possible... to have a 'genetic' memory.... I wonder if anyone has ever had a similar experience.

Hello and welcome!
I have a very good friend whose mother also had the same type of experiences. Her and her husband were traveling, and decided to stop at this little inn.
As soon as she walked up towards the building, she started to receive "flashes", like the memories that you described. She could see a woman standing on the porch, (who was not there at the time), and she felt she recognized her. The whole time she was walking towards the porch, she was telling her husband where things would be placed inside the building. Of course her husband shrugged it off, thinking it was nothing. But every detail she described was there, and she had never been to this place before.
I do believe we have lived other lifetimes. Many people believe that we carry some of these events with us throughout all of our lifetimes. We are sometimes faced with events that bring these memories out. Sometimes the memories are far to strong to be typical Deja Vu.
