 Conclusive Evidence... Now what???
After recently watching a new episode of Ghost Hunters on the SCI-FI channel… I began to think about some of the evp recordings that they had captured.
One sounded as if it was indeed in such great distress, that it was heartbreaking. It was obviously trying to communicate, though the words were unclear.
Sometimes when you capture such recordings it is hard to understand what is being said. But, sometimes you can just tell an emotion by the sound of a voice, which also holds true for the living.
Once you find proof of paranormal activity, as a “ghost investigator”, what then? Do you simply collect the evidence, and then go on with the next case?
If there is indeed, a lingering spirit, shouldn’t the next solution be something to the effect of helping them cross over? I believe a ghost hunter/investigator…should have some kind of relationship with a “sensitive or psychic”, since it is believed that such individuals are able to communicate with the dead.
I believe the duty of a paranormal investigator is not only to identify and try to scientifically prove such existence, but also to help the departed to cross over to the next plane.
When a spirit is able to communicate, I feel that they are trying to establish some kind of contact with the living to not only let them know that they still exist, but to maybe help them in some way… One of the top questions asked while doing an audio recording is “do you need help?” Or…”are you lost?” If they could respond … Yes! … then what? Do you just take proof of the event… or do you return to help them? They are obviously reaching out to us to in fact… help them.
These are just some of my thoughts on the matter. After all… “Ghosts were people too…”

This also gets me thinking about something else...
As a ghost investigator.. there is a relationship between not only the resident of the area and the investigator.. but there is also a relationship between the investigator and spirit...
When an investigator makes contact.. the spirit obviously is aware of that.. if in fact it is an intelligent haunting. Wouldn't they be waiting for someone else to try to establish contact with them, if the investigator doesn't return?
If a resident of an area is told by the investigator that they do indeed find paranormal activity.... then what? Would the spirit become more aggressive trying to establish the same contact with the resident?
One of the many reasons, I feel that we should help them cross over. If there is a way to communicate with them.. I think the invesitgation should continue until the departed is at peace... If of course.. that is possible.

i agree with your comment because just getting the evidence and not trying to help is just a way of telling them you are just there to screw around and use them for entertainment.the only reason i was not able to help the entities back a t job corps is that it is hard to do the job when you have to do school work. that and you have a curfew heh. i am still trying to help the woman at beeler cemetary. sence she made her presence known she needed my help.especially when she followed me home and decided to spend the night for 2 days.. im still working on getting back up there.along with all the other spirits who tried to make contact that night.

Hello.. glad you made it to the forum. I can understand why you were not able to help. And sometimes I don't think the entity really "wants" help. If that's the case, then there's really nothing you can do.
But, some spirits will only say "help" in an evp, and that bothers me, especially when the investigators just collect it and go about their day..
I don't know if you've seen the new show called "Paranormal State". I think it comes on A&E. They really seem to care about their clients as well as the spirit that is haunting them, and they do what they can to cleanse the house, and offer a way to cross over. I really like their investigative methods.
