My understanding of grammar was very poor when I started the degree. I improved it by buying some books and reading them. Also, write as often as possible to include the elements you don't understand, you'll be amazed at how quickly you can learn in this manner.

If you have any grammar queries post them here, I'm sure there's plenty of members who would love to give helpful advice. Considering it's a writing forum, maybe Dan could create a dedicated English & Grammar area inside the Narrative Module... maybe

I also have a problem with my vocabulary, as pointed out by Paul Roberts - in short, my grasp of words is pretty limited. How I am combatting this is by reading more, and whenever I discover a word I do not know the meaning of (which is surprisingly very often) I write it in a special "new word" notebook, and read each word and their meaning every day until I have memorised them.

It sounds like a lot of extra work, but to improve, you have to actively seek improvement.

For me it all stems from a poor education and a poorer attitude towards education when I was younger.

Good luck... emoticon
