 two fairly depressing things from a while ago!
A little forewarning, if you don't like depressing writing I wouldn't bother readin these. They're two things I wrote a while back. Neither of them have titles, and everyone who reads them either loves them or hates them. (more often than not hates them) It seems I have a tendency to make eveyone depressed. lol.
Do you feel the need for payback
for the lost years of your life?
All the time you worked for them
they'd sit and watch you die!
They couldn't give a damn about
what happens to you now,
your life is a commodity
for them and nothing else
Injecting you with Anthrax
you didn't stand a chance
with DU and Plutonium
covering your hands
NBC is just three letters
in Kuwait they can save lives
but back at home in London
saving lives is just a lie.
and the other one...
I see your face when I close my eyes
so white and sickly thin,
I wish I could have helped you
but by then it was too late
It was so weird to watch you die
I had to force myself to cry,
It was fascinating in a way
though now i'll not forget that day
Your breathing soon got slower
though the oxygen was pumped,
and then you slowly slipped away
so peaceful and asleep it seemed
No-one gives a Grit now
for your sacrifice,
one of the forgotten one
there are so many like you
To me you are a hero and
your memory will go on,
One day they will acknowledge you
and what you gave away
Now others have their freedom
because of what you did,
and have a decent life
Whilst back at home there is a medal
in the draw of a widowed wife.
