Honestly I found this to be the best remake of a classic ever and thoroughly recommend it.
Rupert Everett is brilliant
Everett always is brilliant.
You can't beat a bit of George Cole, though, and I must say that I have a healthy aversion to Russell Brand. If someone can edit Brand out of the film, I'll happily watch this.
I remember reading an article about the production of this remake, in which one of the producers said something along the lines of 'It'll be a St Trinian's film for the modern age, and the girls will be shown having sex and taking drugs', but a paragraph or two below he said that, 'We won't show them smoking: we don't want to send out a bad message to younger viewers'.
Talk about conflicted
