Machinima is Harder than it Looks
Recently with an AAE trial I've been trying to make a short machinima, using all my known knoledge of the subject to make it look as real as it would ever be. The problem is I am failing harshly at this attempt.
No matter how hard I try, using all the cheap tricks in the book (lots of contrast, blurs, color corrections galore) I cannot get it to look as good a quality. Every time I watch it it still looks like some crappy footage someone shot and tried to make look okay.
How do you do it Oxhorn? How do you give your characters the imperfections that make them look so real? Studying your movies I cannot find this perfect flaw? What is it that you do to make them not stand out so much, but enough to look like the real deal?

Lots and lots and lots of practice. Discovering trick and tip on your own by doing things over and over improve quality greatly.
Look at "Tauren's Kilt" and compare that to "Oxhorn's Melody"
Notice a difference?

Yeah, it is really difficult. I mean, ,
my video is pretty bad.
 But uh... I do wonder how he does it so well, too. And maybe I should get WeGame instead of using fraps, cause I heard that's what Ox uses. Sucky thing is my SVegas is only a trial. 
I also admit I've been using others' audio for the vids. I have a feeling I'm going to have to remove them, bringing down to a REALLLLLLY low number od videos. rofl
I don't have the setup or anything, just a laptop and a couple of free programs. Meh... that's what I get.

Making a Machinima really isn't something that takes 5 minutes, no.
Trying it yourself gives you a new appreciation for the art (and for Brandon... and apparently Carrot Juice...), I discovered this as well.
But it pays off in the end! You just have to stick with it and keep trying!
I wish I could find some time! ARGGG!!!
I need to win the lottery.
