Checking to see if this works...

If so, Here is my set in it's current setup. I am contemplating switching things around a little bit. Maybe making a "quad style" tree to my left, dropping the ride cymbal down to a more relaxed height, and maybe... maybe getting a remote High-hat from DW and having it forward of my right knee right over the bass drum. Trying to see if running a high hat at a more comfortable area will increase my stick work.

Re: Show Us Your Sets!

BTW, this started out as a new Londoner V bought brand new in 1976. The original pieces are 8 x 12, 9 x 13 toms; 16 x 16 floor tom; 18 x 22 bass drum; Dynasonic Snare; and all the hardware including 2 cymbal stands. Added over the years 10 x 14 tom, 7 x 10 concert tom, 16 x 18 floor tom, 2 Tama boom cymbal stands. The Cymbals are all Ziljian: 20" med. ride, 18" crash-ride, 20" swish, 16 med-thin crash, 8" splash, and 14" New beat high hats.

I broke my original kick pedal back in college, and replaced it with a DW 5000 chain drive pedal. I "think" that was one of the very first chain-driven pedals that you could have purchased. It still plays like a dream, just like the rest of the set.

ButcherBlock, so nice, so cool! Now you have a "Londoner 8."

Speaking for the other forum members, we love to see vintage Rogers drum sets and hear about the people who have owned and cherished them since new; that's provenance. We see too many sets being torn apart by the dumpster divers and parted out. That you cherish your classic set is a very good thing for Rogers aficionados everywhere.

Good on ya!

Re: Show Us Your Sets!

Thanks for the kind words!

Been a bit busy out here with work, so It's rare for me to actually get on line nowadays...

The neat thing is that my kids are all in various school bands (except the son, he is now at a college that doesn't have a music program...yuck!) My youngest daughter is following in her Daddy's footsteps and is a percussionist. She has already told me that she has her eyes on my set.

What's that NRA saying?..."Only when you pry it from my cold dead fingers..."

Here's my newly aquired, soon to be bop set. 12 and 14 Big R and a Dayton 18 floor tom on a drum cradle for a bass drum.

Not fancy, but sound great. I need to put coated Ambasadors or some sort of vintage style head on the toms and we're ready to go. The toms were converted from concert toms and the bearing edges redone on top and bottoms as a result. The 18 is all original.

The snare is a 4 1/2 X 14 solid cherry Craviotto shell which someone used in a custom build for a studio.
My other snares at the moment are a 5X14 1920's solid mahogany Ludwig Pioneer, and a 1950's 6'1/2 X 14 Gretsch maple. I really want a nice Dynasonic though.

Sorry to get back on your comment on my drums Dan! I'm glad to hear your evaluation of my drums. I always thought this configuration and wrap are scarce. to tell you the truth I really do not like this wrap as much as other wraps but you really do not see this around very much.
Very nice drums guys!................................phil

Beautiful drumset. I like the way you're using the swivo cymbal mounts as opposed to stands. Great stuff here!
