Couple photos of the Platinums with the silver stains on the floor back from the studio.

We've missed you around the ROF. Glad to have you back with us.
Great pictures, okjohne. First time I've ever laid eyes on a set of Platinum Rogers.

Re: Show Us Your Sets
Thanx jack. I have not been around DML latlely either. Was in a pretty serious prodject in the last year. Did a bunch of gigs. Helped arange and recorded several songs but the gig was sucking the life outa me. Artist was a little to intense and freaky if you know the type. He's still bugging me to play for him. No thanx. That coupled with this lousy economy has got us all working harder for less dough.

okjohne.
Would it be possible to post more pics of your
platinums? I'm sure all of us could use more of
a set that we will probable never see in person.

Re: Show Us Your Sets
ok, I had this big red Premier rock kit. I liked it a lot. I was looking for a smaller kit to practice on as I was playin out a bit. Shopping craigs list, the classifieds, ebay and my 2 local drum shops. At this time i knew nothing about Rogers drums. I saw this "blue grey" 3 piece Rogers on craigs list but kinda put it in the back of my mind. I kept looking around but this little 3 piece was cheap and I really needed a practice kit. I decided to call the seller. His house was only a few miles from mine and we arrainged the inspection. HE WAS ASKING $300. FOR ALL THREE DRUMS. This was a 8x12 rack 16x16 floor and 14x 22 bass. I had no idea what platinum was. I went to the door and this mid 50's man answered. I stood as he got then seller. A young man, looked like a teenager but may be young 20's man This is when i figured it was his folks house. He took me to the basement were he had this cool little blue grey 3 piece it looked awesome. He was this indie/emo kid with the tight jeans and the bright accerories. His hair was cut so that a jet black triangle of hair covered part of one eye. I offered $250 (always offer less) he took it and boom I had a practice kit.
At the time I was a regular on DML. I let folks know i bought the kit and let them know what I might do with it. (strip it re-wrap whatever). I had no respect at all. Just a cheap set of drums that sounded great and were cheap. This PLOUGHMAN DUDE got a hold of me and set me straight.
It was only a couple months later I ran into a 9x13 no serial platinum on ebay. I payed more for that one drum than the other three ($280). It made the kit.
Got educated about these drums. I'm a quick study when motivated. Started scanning evreything all the time. Ran into the 13, 14, 16, 22, silver satins on ebay for like $400 and bought them. Wow these were truely nice drums. I mean, way nice.
Decided to set them up right. Drum City got me on the right track with a solid rim mount system on all the rack toms.
WARNING!!!
There are very few Platinums in good shape left. I got lucky. Since this purchase I have not found a single real non Island platinum or silver satin. The single drum market on these is pretty shady. I have sent 2 drums back in the last 3 months.
