Re: Correct Front Head Options for My Bass??
My original set from 1967 also had felt strips front and back on the stage-right side of the bass drum. I'm using Gibralter strips now; I didn't know Al Drew still had the originals. I have an Ambassador batter head but I cheated and got a coated Aquarian for the front because Vintage Logos had them available with no logo, just tiny lettering on the lower front that's practically invisible.

Re: Correct Front Head Options for My Bass??
Hey Throwoff. A little pro-grade acetone will take that lettering right off! I got the logo off of my coated Ambassador with ease! Just try not to rub like a maniac or you might remove some of the coating.
Yep the felt is $35 shipped from Al Drew's. I just received mine and still have to measure it, but I believe it is a 20 ft roll.

Re: Correct Front Head Options for My Bass??
I have them too, although what I'm gonna do with all that felt is beyond me, the cat likes to play with it........you know a lot of good little tricks don't you Bamboo??????? Is there anywhere besides online to get that polish? It sounds very similar to what I use for guitar finishes that I get from Stewart Amos? It has three different grades and a final polish ........Novus?

Re: Correct Front Head Options for My Bass??
Thanks Backintoit. I try to be crafty. Ha!
The Novus polish can actually be found pretty easily on ebay... the key is to find someone with low shipping. I have the larger sized containers 8oz) and I believe I got the whole 3 step process and a couple chamois shipped for under $20. Sounds like a lot, BUT this stuff goes a long way.
The professional acetone can be found at any Target or beauty supply place. Basically at Target just buy the one that costs more.... more acetone in it. This works for getting logos off of vinyl, plastic, etc... ANYTHING that has been printed!
