Mark's Love Match on TV

Mark is going to be doing a bachelor-style show for NBC (US).
So apparently he's single and looking for love. And since his private life will now be public we can discuss it right??????
There was a little blurb about it in the new People magazine. I looked quick and forget the name of the show but just that he thinks 'all women are beautiful' and 'age doesn't matter'

LOL - that's abit of a stretch emoticon

I hope someone gets to see the show so they can tell us all about it then we can have a discussion about it. The show is called 'the Age of Love - we should keep an eye on the NBC website!

A little more information:

NBC to debut cryptic new 'Age of Love' reality dating series on June 18
By Steve Rogers and Christopher Rocchio, 04/13/2007

NBC has announced that Age of Love, a new reality dating series of some kind, will air as part of a Summer 2007 original programming lineup that will also include the returns of America's Got Talent and Last Comic Standing and a late summer early launch of The Biggest Loser's fourth season.

The eight-episode series -- which the network is cryptically calling a "new twist on the reality dating show format" -- will premiere on Monday, June 18 at 10PM ET.

"We have a strong hand to play this summer season with a proven stable of winning series from past summers," NBC Craig Plestis stated in an announcement of the network's Summer 2007 programming. "Impressively, each returning show will have a fresh look with new hosts and the competitions on America's Got Talent, Last Comic Standing, and The Biggest Loser will be even bigger and better than before. Likewise, we like what we see with the new Age of Love, which could prove to be the breakout hit of the summer."

While NBC is keeping mum on any additional details about Age of Love's concept, the network did announce that Mark Consuelos -- whose acting credits include My Super Ex-Girlfriend, All My Children and Hope & Faith and is married to unabashed The Bachelor fan Kelly Ripa -- will serve as the show's host.

Despite NBC's attempt to keep the show's specifics under wraps, some details do appear to have leaked out. In a casting notice posted online in March, Age of Love's casting directors stated the show was seeking men between the ages of 28 and 36 and women between the ages of 21 and 50 to participate in a show about "modern romance and finding love in an increasingly complicated world." "If you're a single female looking for love, we'd love to meet you. We have one of the world's most eligible bachelors waiting for you. We are looking for all age ranges," the casting notice stated.

Age of Love is being produced by 3 Ball Productions, with JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Adam Greener and Craig Armstrong serving as the show's executive producers.

lol, diane we're too late, i think all the ladies have been cast emoticon

It premieres in June, so you would have to assume it is filmed before then.

Mark and Alexis broke up after the US open last year.

Philippoussis TV love hunt - Daily Telegraph

Philippoussis TV love hunt

MARK Philippoussis has confirmed he is looking for love on a US reality TV dating show - and has not ruled out falling for a woman in her 40s.

He has also revealed that any future fling must be with a chick who is hot for dogs - as the Scud's latest obsession is a rottweiler.

The jet-setting tennis player, who is notorious for dating younger women, said he agreed to star in Age Of Love after struggling to meet the right woman since becoming single ten months ago.

"I am so shy," Philippoussis, 30, said.

"I would just really like to meet someone.

"I am just a simple guy who wants a simple girl."

The new eight-episode series has been likened to hit US franchise The Bachelor, but it has a twist - half the women are in their 20s and half in their 40s, according to a statement issued yesterday by the show's creators.

"Philippoussis will date 13 women from two very different groups," the statement said.

"The Kittens (are) six fun, enthusiastic women in their 20s and the Cougars (are) seven beautiful, sophisticated women in their 40s."

Philippoussis - who split from his teenage fiancee Alexis Barbara, a stunning Miami model, in July - said he was initially unnerved by the idea of dating older women but after meeting the more mature contestants he was now open to the idea.

"Until now, the oldest woman I've ever gone out with was four years younger than me," he told US magazine People.

"(But) age doesn't matter to me - all the women are beautiful."

The Scud, who is a former Wimbledon runner-up, had a high-profile nine-month relationship with singer Delta Goodrem which ended in 2004, as well as rumoured flings with a bevy of beauties including tennis bombshell Anna Kournikova, and more recently ,19-year-old Australian surfer Ashley Cheadle.

But the tennis lothario was keen to shoot down tabloid reports linking him to two Hollywood party girls.

"I have never, ever dated Paris Hilton or Tara Reid," he said.

Philippoussis, who has been sidelined by a series of knee surgeries, said he hoped to return to Wimbledon's Centre Court in June and had been playing tennis four times a week with friend Gavin Rossdale at the Beverly Hills estate the rocker shares with chart star wife Gwen Stefani and their son Kingston.

He said Rossdale, who was the lead singer of '90s British rock group Bush, was one of only a handful of people who knew about Age of Love.

"Gavin said to me, 'wow - you could change the dating habits of all mankind'," Philippousis said.

So what is Philippoussis looking for in his ideal woman?

He said a smoker would be knocked out of the competition immediately, as would a woman who does not like dogs.

"I just don't see how that could ever work," he said.

Philippoussis said the leading lady in his life at the moment was his four-month-old rottweiler puppy Kya.

"When I turn out the lights, she gets up on the bed and puts her front paws on my shoulders and she kisses me goodnight," he said.

"Now that's love."

Philippoussis yesterday revealed that his lifestyle of constant travel had caused him to end his relationship with Barbara but said he was now ready to make a commitment to the right woman.

The Wimbledon champion said he had reached a turning point in his life and felt, for the first time, that he had achieved enough stability to invite someone into his life and into his heart.

US network NBC, which is behind the series, has billed Philippoussis as "one of the world's most eligible bachelors".

Shooting has already begun in Los Angeles.

A statement from show's creators said Philippoussis had been unaware of the concept of the show when he signed on and was initially shocked when he was introduced to the older group of women.

"The series takes a dramatic turn when Mark learns there's a second group of much younger women who will also be attempting to vie for his affections," the statement said.

"Unaware of each other, the two groups of women meet for the first time taking the competition for Mark's affections to a whole new level.

"From there, each week the field of women will be narrowed down with the remaining vying for his attention - but only one can win Mark's heart."

The series, which will premiere on US television on June 18, is expected to be one of the biggest hits of the American summer ratings season and was created by the people behind popular franchises Survivor, The Biggest Loser and Super Nanny.

It is believed the Australian rights to air the series are still yet to be snapped up by a local network.

WOW! I'm really surprised too but I hope that Mark has a lot of fun with this and if he is lucky enough to find someone special, good on him!

Please tell me that our scuders in the USA will get this 8 week series and I beg that you make a copy on tape for me so I can make clips for everyone!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!
