Re: Agassi to retire from tennis after this year's U. S. Open
oh well, that was expected. It's been a long time coming.
I'm sure his fans will be sad to see him go.
I was never a fan but I admire that he was able to stick to it for so long and its only the past year that his age has caught up with him

Re: Agassi to retire from tennis after this year's U. S. Open
I accidentally posted in the wrong forum but it must come as no surprise to anyone that I will be very sad to see Andre go.
I think he is a massive inspiration, one of the best ever players, and a very generous and kind man with his charity. When I look back to how he first started, as "the shopping mall kid", and to what he has become, probably the most respected male player on the tour, I think his story is a fabulous one, and he will be long remembered. I have been very lucky to see basically his whole career and I will sorely miss him.
I still think he could spring a few surprises in his last 2 Slams! For you Andre++++

True, David, AA has had a tremendous amount of impact on the game and has done an incredible amount of work with his charity and given and raised millions for it. As for tournaments--you never know--Sampras won the US Open as his swan song; Andre could do it too!

As everyone said. This was expected, he couldn't go on much longer with his injury problems.
David, we just hope he does quite well at both Wimbledon & the US Open so we get to watch him a few more times.

Re: Agassi to retire from tennis after this year's U. S. Open
Troubleis Andre, Mark & Kim were all on at the same time, so I was going from1court to the other (onTV!).
Luckily they all won, so hopefully next time they'll be on at different times.
Andre needed a little time to get going, but played better after the 1 set
