Indian Wells (Pacific Life) Tournament
We're out the door for our annual trek to the Palm Desert/Indian Wells area for the huge tournament. This is only the second or third time in all the times we've gone to a major tournament that I am not expecting to see Mark. I must say it takes some of the fun out!
Because of having our two big dogs and problems in the past with pet sitters and such, we have decided to take them with us this year and board them at the pet hotel nearby. That way we can see them every day! (I know, we fuss just like parents with new babies!) We did this a couple of years ago when we just had Lacey and she loved the pet hotel. We're staying at one of the two players' hotels so that should be fun.
I'll post a little report if anything interesting happens. Last year the weather was rainy and we awoke to snow on the mountains above the desert (where it's usually about 100 degrees!) I don't think anything like that will happen this year. It's expected to be the usual warm & nice. I have my inappropriate sandals and a box of bandaids and we're ready to rock.

Re: Indian Wells (Pacific Life) Tournament
that´s great you are taking them with you. A pet hotel, that must be pretty fun to see
Even without Mark, I´m sure you are going to have a great time and catch lots of interesting matches.
Can´t wait to hear all about it.

Patty, we will look forward to your reports. It was disappointing to see Blake play so badly (on TV) but he at least has a lot of good company in the "upset" category.
When, oh when, are you going to learn to take along a pair of comfortable old tennis shoes to walk in? Actually, I hear it has been pretty hot, so those sandals probably feel better than tennis shoes this week! I hope Lacey and Reno have a great vacation too!

Re: Indian Wells (Pacific Life) Tournament
Not much of a report but it took me over an hour to write it. Then when I sent it, the Runboard was in backup mode and the report didn't post.
The gist of it was that a tennis tournament without any expectation of seeing Mark is just not that interesting! We didn't go to any of the smaller tournaments last season, so we've lost track of who a lot of the players are and couldn't identify many of them.
The dogs had a mixed time at the luxurious pet hotel. Lacey loved it and wiggled & wagged like crazy. Reno has thick black fur and the poor guy was way too hot. The dogs stay inside a glass-walled "cabana" (not a cage) in air-conditioned comfort but when they're taken outside for their play group, it was uncomfortable for him. He was very unhappy by the time we picked them up.
Well, maybe my actual report will magically appear.

Hi, Patty, sorry that your report was lost, but I enjoyed what you were able to post. Poor Reno! I'm sure he'll be glad to be home now.
