Nooooooooo!!!!
It is with much disappointment that I have to report back, I have been unsuccessful in obtaining tickets for either the Stella Artois or Wimbledon. 5 months of waiting for nothing! I hope I feel different about it at the time it all kicks off, but certainly for now due to the extreme disappointment and difficulty of obtaining tickets I have pretty much decided that I will not be attending either tournament this year.

Re: Nooooooooo!!!!
I'm still very annoyed about it, however I have retrived the letter from behind the cupboard hehe, and returns will be going on sale exclusively to people who didn't get tickets. I shall know within 24 hours if I have got them, so my grass court season may yet be saved! I shall certainly hope to be in contact with Christina while she is here!

Re: Nooooooooo!!!!
Its all very difficult isnt it I hope you manage to get some of the returned tickets!!
I don't think I ever realised just how hard it is to get Wimbledon tickets. I think my mum and I are gonna try the camp out for one night and see how we go, but after that i think maybe it will just be ground passes for us.
I usually only get ground passes at the Aus Open and then try to get rod laver arena tickets if Mark is on, . as much as we all love Mark, I think its pretty safe to suggest that he wont get centre court at wimbledon unless he's very unlucky and playing someone like federer in the first round (which would TOTALY suck)
Im starting to get pretty excited
Did I mention we are going to Sweden too? To the tennis in Bastad

Re: Nooooooooo!!!!
Noooooooooooooo becomes yesssssssssssss - I did it!!!! After 1 hour and 10 minutes I got through on the phone and there were surprisingly lots of tickets left, tickets for everyday though i was only allowed 2 for one day which I think is perfectly fair. I have tickets for the Monday and will go to the practise courts probably on both the Saturday and Sunday so should get another meeting with Mark if all goes well and he plays.
Don't forget about the returns tickets Christina, they should get you on centre or number 1 courts most evenings. Again I recommend a camp out on a non-brit player day if possible, and that should get you a decent court ticket.
I shall have to look up that tournament in Bastad Sweden, It sounds familiar but I don't know any details on it....I think Bastad was on an email I once received on funny place names around the world hehe. What dates are you in the UK Christina?

Re: Nooooooooo!!!!
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats so awesome
I love the sound of those returns tickets - I think thats the best (maybe easiest?) way to get a centre court ticket, yeah?
The tournament in Bastad is a clay court - voted tournament of the year last year. it is the week after wimbledon (8-15th of july). I'm really looking forward to that too, cos Magnus Norman (my other all time favourite who retired a few years ago) is involved in the tournament now as it was always his favourite. I think its the only chance I'll ever get to see him in person.
I'm in London Sunday 24th June to weds 5th July and then again at the end of my trip for a few days from 16th to 20th july. In between those I am going to Copenhagen, Bastad and Paris.
xoxo

Re: Nooooooooo!!!!
I am still buzzing off getting those tickets! I phoned Wimbledon yesterday and they informed me that I have been unsuccessful in getting tickets, however one last ballot will take place next week so who knows.
I wish I could advise you on how easy returns are to obtain in the first few days, as I don't want you being disappointed. Certainly by the first Friday they are fairly easy to get. I recommend you go ahead with your camping out plan as this will more than likely get you a full day on centre or no.1 court and you will see great matches. I believe there will be stewards on duty when you arrive in the evening for the camp out and they can probably advise you on whether you are far enough to the front of the queue to get centre or no.1 tickets.
In the evening after the first few days it tends to switch over to doubles in the evening. Definitely get yourself on centre court, but bear in mind that the returns queue for this court is up to 4 times the length of no. 1 court as most people visiting only go for one day and want to be able to say that they have been on centre court. The level of matches are equal, the top seeds will play on both courts so it is well worth getting on the no.1 court queue and getting onto the court alot quicker after you have had the novelty of being on centre. Don't forget to seek out the practice courts to see all the best players out there practising right in front of you and hardly anyone is around plus you get autographs hehe.
I hope that you get to see Magnus in Bastad, sounds like a really good tournament. I am going to have a read up about it.
