Dear Mark
Your contributions too Australian Tennis along with the ATP have been remarkable, the impression you've made on us at the ScudZone has been nothing short of amazing. The countless hours spent checking the forums at the ScudZone just too see how you went in 1st round Matches is still regarded as time very well spent in my book.
Your undeniable talent with a racquet has always been evident, also how a man with an upper body as bulky as yours times a ball so crisply astounds me, I've seen so many bulky people spray balls all over the shop because they can't seem too get over the ball properly. Accompanied with your willingness too battle through the mental & physical pain that 5 knee operations brings is exceptional. Lleyton is regarded as a Lion Heart however personally I don't believe he would go through the rehab that you've put yourself through just too save his career.
The media can seem relentless in their never ending quest too bring you down, however for years you've resisted urges too fight back, that too me proves that you're the bigger man both Metaphorically & literally.
Your Titles in Newport and Calabassas in 2006 showed us how hard you'd worked off the court over the prior few years. In Newport you took out an athletic and crafty left-hander, a Solid Baseliner and a big serving athletic-volleyer (among others), that surely isn't the easiest of feats.
Sometimes life can be tricky, as you well know. But all we can do is fight through, just as you've done. People could read this and think "this Mark guy didn't cure or invent anything, so why
are you putting him on a pedastall", my response too that is this... His tennis bought my attention too him, his come-backs following injury showed us his mettle, thus showing us his Champion qualities, seeing this has ultimately made me a more well-rounded person. (If only your serve could rub-off on me).
Whichever way you choose too go with your life now is your call and rightfully so, you've given us enough of your time on the tennis court. Anyway I hope your injury heals nicely.

Hi Mark,
Until you came along, I had very little interest in Tennis. You changed that and I am now an avid tennis fan. I admire you tremendously and thank you for the enjoyment you have given me over the years watching you play.
I wish you well in your recovery.
Good luck with your future however it pans out.

Dear Mark,
For 12 years I've enjoyed the on-court (and the occasional off-court) entertainment you have given your fans throughout your career. It was your power game and natural gut-instinct style of tennis that has kept me watching and supporting you no matter what. I know some have criticised you for being stubborn on the way you played - but at the end of the day I admire the fact you've stayed true to yourself and played for personal enjoyment... not tactical "correctness".
I have read/seen most of your interviews and you say you've made mistakes in the past... had a little too much fun at times. That may be viewed as a negative thing, but I think most people could easily identify with that. We are all flawed and if some try and tell you having "too much fun" in your 20's should be a regret... that's bull**** - it's a blessing!!
I don't know if this is goodbye... over the years we have come to expect you to bounce back from these surgeries... but after 5 knee operations and many other niggles I only expect you to do what you feel is best for you health and happiness. Regardless of what path you take in the future I wish you all the success in you professional and personal life.

I hope that your surgery went well and that you are feeling ok.
This is a little message to thank you for the enjoyment and happy hours you brought to us, your supporters, during the years of your amazing tennis career.
Having been your fan and a regular visitor of the Scud Zone for many years I made many friendships with persons from all corners of the world. I am sure that some of these friendships will last for a lifetime. I will never forget the cheerful hours we spent all together in the chatroom, following your matches point by point with help of the scoreboard and cheering for you. Some of us even got up in the middle of the night in order to be part of these happy reunions. I also had the chance to meet some of your fans at tennis tournaments which was great - they are all lovely persons! At Roland Garros 2004 I had the opportunity to meet you in person. This was an unique experience that I will always treasure.
You have achieved a lot in tennis and your powerful tennis is/was very beautiful to watch, but what I admire about you most is your enduring fighting spirit. You never give up which is a great inspiration for everyone. Also, you have always had lots of time for you fans, sigining countless autographs and patiently posing for pictures. This is much appreciated!!!!
Coming to an end, I wish you all the best for your future. I hope you will be happy and you will keep enjoying life. Thanks again for all the lovely memories! You will be missed!!!!
