Hi Val, well trust me to make the first complaint on our new forum. I have tried and tried to get used to it and overall the new forum is not a problem to me, but the writing is, I can hardly make out any of the wording on the panels and the white writing around the name of the last poster that I think is a date and other things is totaly un readable to me so I am not putting the time I should be in reading everything because it is just too hard and even hurts my eyes. If I run the curser over it holding it down I can make out the date, but I can't do that with the full page, even the writing is extremely hard to see. Is there any way you can make the print larger and change the white print to some other color. Also is anyone else having problems with the color option? mine worked the first couple of days but doesn't work now.

Anne.

Anne (I closed the other topic as that was the welcome msg auto generated)

Sorry you can't read the board Anne. I've made a few more adjustments. The font size is pretty much as big as it gets. Sorry if its still not good enough. I can't control the font size of the 'control panel' 'Mark ALL forums as read' etc on the top of the forums as this is a setting by Runboard's and its not in my options to change.

I had a bit of a breakthough this morning on the colour issue. Obviously getting up at 5am to walk Harry before the sun (and the heat) arrives is good for the mind! emoticon

I forgot that the top part of SC is HTML code so I was able to seperate the text colour the rest of the board which is controlled by specific settings formats set by runboards.

I've changed so many colour comibinations, my eyes are about to explode. Ok, this is it, final colors, no more changes as this is the absolute best that I can do!

I just made an amazing discovery Anne! If you use the NETSCAPE browser instead of internet explorer, there is an option 'Text zoom' - upto 200% and that makes all the fonts larger! If you don't already have it, here is a link where you can get your free download. The latest version is 8.1. I am currently running version 7.2.

Val it is so much easier to read, it has blown the margin a little but that is not a problem, but what about everyone else? I would hate for it to mess up anyone elses readings.

Anne, it would only be incompatible if you are not running the correct operating system to download this version. Here is the definition of System requirements for that version.

Operating Systems
Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98 SE, ME

Minimum Hardware
• 233 MHz processor (Recommended: 1 GHz processor or greater)
• 64 MB RAM (Recommended: 256 MB RAM or greater)
• 35 MB hard drive space

Otherwise, I suggest you look at version 7.2 which is what I am running. You need to download the version compatible with your system set-up

Anne,

I set the forum headings back to size 10 font now that we've resolved your other issues.

Let me know if its a problem. :-)

In regards to the netscape settings it could be that you have downloaded a particular windows version of netscape that isn't compatible. You will need to download the correct version but may be best to wait until your son is able to advise you.

Val

Hi Val as you can see I tried to get an avatar (s) and ended up with a printed sign, I have no idea why I thought I did the right thing.

 Any suggestions?

Anne, This indicates that you have put the incorrect URL in your personal settings.

Here is an example for you

This is the link to the photbucket albums

http://photobucket.com/albums/f41/val_sz/

if you wanted to use the first photo in there, then place your mouse in the URL box and double click so the full URL is highlighted. Then you need to Copy and Paste into your personal settings.
This is the URL that you should end up with for the first pic

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f41/val_sz/mark_37.jpg

All it takes is an extra space for the URL not to work.

Val
