I am looking forward to Federer vs. Berdych. I think Federer has too many weapons on grass for the youngster but I'll still enjoy watching them.

I'd like to see Murray vs Baghdatis tonight but unfortunately we probably wont get much of it and by the time we do, I'll have fallen asleep. It clashes with Hewitt's match.

What's happening to Rod****? He seems to be having alot of problems this past year.

Here are some possibilities:

1) J. McEnroe says Rod**** is not diagnosing his own play well. Rod**** described standing 3 feet inside the baseline to receive serves but McEnroe said he did not see that at all. I thought that was interesting--that's where a really good coach could help him.

2) IMHO: Everyone knows about his strengths. But be has too many weaknesses in his game. He does not have quick reactions. So, at the net, he does not get into position to volley well enough, and he can't really take full advantage of his fast serve, and he can't return as well as people who do have great reactions. He has never had a strong backhand--it's just competent, but not a weapon. So it's easy to see how to attack him if you have the physical abilities. He can certainly develop a much better backhand. But I don't know if it is possible for him to learn to overcome the reaction time/volleying problem--have his coaches drilled him a lot on them? If they have, then he may just lack the physical abilities (in the eyes, brain, eye-hand coordination) to compete with the very best now.

Put 1 and 2 together and you have--Andy, go beg John McEnroe to review tapes and coach you for at least week! The rumors are that he is talking to Jimmy Connors because he was such a great returner. But has Jimmy had any success in coaching anyone else? I admit to never liking Connors.
