Re: Wimbledon 2007
Hi, sorry to take so long to reply to this! Best thing you can do is hope that the 3 main british players all play in the same side of the draw or all lose early! I believe the queue for centre court on a henman rusedski murray day could be as much as 36 hours in advance. However for the non british player days i think that early evening the night before should probably get you in.
Are you currently just intending on buying grounds passes for the other days? Im still waiting to hear if I have been lucky in the ticket ballot, i've got nothing in 9 years of trying so hopefully this year will be my lucky year!

Re: Wimbledon 2007
thanks for your advice!! At this stage just planning for ground passes, but we can still dream of centre court, hehe
do you know what time should you get there to try to get a ground pass?
the ballot seems almost impossible to win!! its so much harder to go to wimbledon than the australian open!
thanks again xoxo

Re: Wimbledon 2007
The ballot is outdated I really feel that by now tickets should just go on sale like everywhere else. A large majority of the people who go in for the ballot only do so to sell the tickets on ebay for around 10 times their face value, meaning the real fans in the ballot also lose out.
For grounds passes it really does seem to vary, I once went on the first Friday and arrived at 8.00am and got in 3 hours later no problem, again on a non-brit players day. Remember that the Brits like to just be inside wimbledon for the atmosphere when a brit is playing regardless of whether they have court seats. I would say get up as early as you can bear and just get down there it's worth it, the majority of the queue is on grass so you can sit or lie down and relax. On the second week I arrived at 11.45am and got straight in but only saw doubles on the outside courts.
Also im not sure if you are aware that in the late afternoon you have a 90% chance of getting on centre court to see the last 1 or 2 matches during the later part of the first week (maybe the earlier part as well tho im not sure), as the tickets are resold when people leave. These cost 5 pounds around 7 euros i think. In the second week it is easier to get these seats but you will only see doubles unless there have been rain delays. I suggest that you get yourself in that queue for resold centre court tickets as soon as you can, once they start allocating the seats it is usually a fast moving queue.
On a grounds pass I strongly recommend that you spend time down at the practise courts and also outside the press office, these are the 2 main places that you can get autographs. Unfortunately I don't think you can get the practise court schedule unless you know someone who works there, the first time i went down there for a casual stroll I ended up meeting Mark for the first time!
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions or comments please feel free to ask!

Re: Wimbledon 2007
I just don't know whether to expect Mark at Wimbledon this year. It's taken him so long to recover from this latest injury that I fear it will be too late for Wimbledon unless he is able to get a Wildcard. As a previous finalist, I hope that he does get one! Even so, without matchplay for 5 months it seems hard to imagine Mark will be a force on the grass courts. I hope I'm wrong, I really do.
I have 2 weeks holiday planned during this event so I could watch a fair bit of the action. I had originally hoped that it would be to see alot of Mark in action.

Re: Wimbledon 2007
I was strongly debating posting something similar to this myself. There is no mention of him at all on the Stella Artois line up either. I think he is someone who would get a wimbledon wildcard even if he left it very late, as a previous finalist and popular player. I don't think I will even go to the Queens practise courts this year if he isn't there as he is the only male player that always takes the time to sign autographs for everyone. Mind you Safin being there is a temptation!
As we all know Mark believes it is his fate that he will win Wimbledon so I think to not take part this year may make him wonder if he had missed the chance where it was going to happen.
Lets hope he feels good enough in himself to give it a go!
