Hello from Val
I thought it would be nice to create a forum where we can all introduce ourselves.
Even those of us that have been around for too many years
It may help bring out our new members (and lurkers) and say hello
Tell us as much or as little as you would like to, about yourself, where you live and how you became a Mark fan too! I'm hoping that you will atleast tell us about these few things!
Don't be afraid to include links in here to maps and pictures of where you live. I would be fascinated to know more about where everyone lives (and see your pictures) as I have a fear of flying and will never get a chance to see these wonderful places.
Let's see how much I want to share about myself ...............................
I live in Melbourne, near the mountains. Some people call it the sticks but I love to wake up to the sounds of kookaburras and native birds and to be able to enjoy daily walks in the park. I've always been a huge dog lover so the daily walks are a must and I hated it when I lived in one of the closer suburbs to town, surrounded by concrete and smog *cough* *splatter*
I've been involved with the Scud Zone since November 1999. It seems like a lifetime now I'd love to know who out there were a part of Scud Central before my time.
I don't think that I really became aware of Mark until that great match against Pete Sampras at the Australian Open and I thought what an awesome talent at the tender age of 19.
It wasn't until a couple of years later when I first got my access to the internet was I able to start to follow Mark's career. It didn't take me long (about 6 weeks from what I recall!) to become totally committed to Mark as a fan and felt like I had to fight his battles against the unfair media stories. Not long after that I found the Scud Zone and Scud Central.
I guess right now, my career would be described as an analyst programmer but I don't do much programming now. It's a language (Basic/Pick/Universe) that seems very out dated with today's technology but it does help me get by in reading html code as I've never been able to get around to getting software to develop pages on SZ.
Of course, you all know that my other passion is my sweet little old dog, Harry
Now its your turn!
Val
