Roger's performance
Seems like there are no Roger fans here.
Ir eally enjoyed his performance yesterday. I had thought he wasn't playing his best, some of his errorsvs Ciquel & Blake were most untypical, but what was typical was the way he upped his performance when he needed to. He had that little blip at the start of the 2nd set & lost it when Andy was playing out of his skin. But then in the 3rd Roger picked his game up, and just as at that 1st Wimbledon final when he started so strongly, A-Rod was just incapable of keeping up that level for too long & lost to a superior player in the end.
As for the ladies, Henin was lucky to get to the final when Jankovic choked after a dubious call and didn't win a game after that. In theother semi, God only knows what happened to Mauresmo, but Sharapova took full advantage & deserved her final place. In the final Maria played a clever match & was a fitting winner. She can now no longer be called a 1-Slam wonder.

Re: Roger's performance
oh we're fans, i think if anybody is a fan of tennis they would have to admire Roger Federer. i posted my comments on roger yesterday in the main US thread... but i'll post them in here too.
Incredible match from Roger Federer today. Without doubt the most talented player in history. I was very impressed with the improvements Ro**** has made over the past couple months. Seem's the new coach has had a huge impact and andy now seems a lot smarter on court. I think an interesting comment today was about roger's fitness. I cant remember which aussie commentator said it - but u could tell rod**** was putting in 110% and at the end looked tired, but then u glance at roger who's putting in the same effort but hardly broke a sweat.
The best thing for mark was the match-up with nadal..because its more clear then ever before Mark's fitness still needs to go up a few notches. He needs to be fit enough to stay in rallies, when needed. I do hope he is using this break between now and davis cup to get strong and lean up a little more. There were plenty of positive signs from his match, but also heaps of things to improve.
go mark!!
