Sorry I haven't been on here for ages. ButI have been watching the AO (&wishing I was there!) Ileave thetaperunning allnight & try & catch up withasmuch as possible the next day, besideswatching thenight matchea.
There has been some great tennis and it's all been highly entertaining. But what dominant tennis we got in the 2men'ssemis. Roger was in sublime form vs Rod**** emoticon andGonzalezhasbeenplaying unbelievably his last few matches. To beat Hewitt, Blake, Nadal and then Haas in a row is no mean feat and making only 3 unforced errors today is unbelievable.
We now hope for a good & highly contested match in the final.

BTW, I have heard the Australian press have mentioned someone in Serena's box using his watch to catch the sun & flash it at Vaidisova during their semi. Any of you seen or heard anything about it?

Sorry i did not see this thread earlier! Congratulations to Federer and Williams on their outstanding final matches and great play throughout the tournament! It wasn't easy to see much of the play since the evening matches began at 3:30 AM here and often the evening matches were shown on tape delay, beginning at 9 or 10 PM. But I enjoyed what I could watch.

I wonder how Mark's rehab and training are going?

Congratulations to Serena and Roger on their titles. Also a congrats to Brydan winning the Junior title, Australia's first in 13 years.

Well I'm bit slow with the update but I had a great time at my first AO. I would definately go again....but yes Val I agree with you, I had a lot more fun on the outside courts than in RLA.

I saw Alicia Molik in the womens doubles with Tatiana Golovin, unfortunately they lost but there was plenty of support.
I watched, as it turns out Wayne Arthurs' last win at the open against Zack Fleishman (usa). It was a really great match and the crowd was really behind him all the way. I had great pics of the last points but I lost my memory card :-(
Marat Safin v Dudi Sela was a great 5 set match. Dudi is definately a great player to watch and I'm sure he will get some great results soon.
Kim Clisters and Jelena Jankovic breezed thru their matches.
Robert Smeets of Australia was defeated by Tomas Berdych. Lot of support for Tomas tho.

Also I saw Rafa, Gael Monfils and Andy Murray practice....

Well that was a fun filled 2 days. I was also brave enough to wait for a Garnier bag.........

oopsie!

Sorry Clair, I've read your post about 12 months too late emoticon

I'm glad you had fun and saw some great matches.

I do believe the outside courts are the place to be. RLA is only fun at night as the atmosphere is completely different. Of course, if your fave player is on RLA then its always a good place to be.

I've noticed a change on RLA the past 5 years or so. It just wasn't as fun as in the earlier years when more of the general crowd was able to get seats.

Val
