Re: Life's Little Surprises!
I wanted to let everyone know that I have an appointment to see the Oncologist GYN on Wednesday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. I am ecstatic that they were able to get me in so soon.
I have been thinking about the up side of having surgery and the coolest part is going to be the wonderful pain pills I will get to partake in. Nothing like a good buzz to make everything seem wonderful. Also, everyone in my family feels so bad for me because I am going to have to have surgery. So, of course they are going to want to do whatever they can to make me feel better. I'll give you one guess as to what that will be!! Yes, I will be showered with new Sylvanians. I made out like a bandit when I had to have the biopsy done. Nothing makes a booboo feel better than a new item for my collection.
In all seriousness, my family has been beyond fantastic. My husband and children have been so supportive. My son, who is stationed in Japan, flew home Tuesday so that he would be here for my appointment yesterday. He made arrangements to be home for the next two weeks just for me. My eldest daughter has offered to come home and forgo attending classes this coming up semester if I need her. She lives in North Carolina and my youngest daughter told me that she would postpone going back to Texas when her husband comes back from Kuwait if that is what she needed to do. I can't even begin to tell you all that my husband has been doing for me. My eldest sister, who is petrified of flying, said she would fly here immediately to help me out. She did it before when I had to have emergency surgery on a cyst that turned into necrotizing cellulitis. I almost died then. This is my family.
A wonderful thing happened. I discovered that there were people out there in the world that were as compassionate and supportive as any of my family members. The difference being, to them, I am a stranger...known only by what I have shared of myself. Yet, that did not matter. I am so blessed to be in a community that is made up of so many caring souls. You, my friends, have my deepest gratitude.

I have a Dr's appt at 10.00am Wed 3rd June and although it will be way earlier than yours, being in different parts of the world I will be thinking of you! I think I will also get the Dr to check all my odd lumps and bumps this visit too!

Re: Life's Little Surprises!
I had an appointment this past Friday with a surgeon concerning a large cyst/fistula that I have in the crease of my right leg/pubic area. I will be having surgery tomorrow to have it removed. It is going to have to heal from the inside out so I will have a nice hole in the area for a little while, but after dealing with this for months I will be glad when it is finally gone. After hearing that I had been diagnosed with Vulvar Cancer my surgeon made arrangements to do the surgery as soon as possible. He never operates on Monday's but is doing it just for me. Dr. Brinkman, my surgeon, is the man that saved my life 6 years ago when I developed necrotizing cellulitis. I can't say enough good things about him. Now, he is giving up his day off to take care of me again. To be honest, I wish that he could also be the one that treats my cancer. He was extremely curious about my tumor, since it is rare I guess he had never seen it before. He asked me if minded showing it to him. Of course, I didn't mind at all. Anyway, tomorrow I have one surgery and then Wednesday I see the oncologist to make arrangements to have another one to have the cancer removed. June will be a month of recovery for me.

Re: Life's Little Surprises!
Thank-you Thistlethorn. I already have a list made up of the items that I would like to add to my collection. I know for a fact that my son is planning on buying me the Mill On The Hill. However, it is a belated Birthday/Mother's Day Present from him. I just need to get a total with shipping for him from the SF Shop so he knows how much to give us to cover the cost. My daughter, Amanda, wants me to have the Bouncy Castle for my babies so she is buying that for me. The only thing I will need to complete the Baby Fairground Line is the Baby Fairground House which I will purchase later on. A few other things that I would like are the Village Show Marquee, Village Show Hook-a-Duck Stall, Yvette's Boating Trip, Keats Cat Grandparents, Maces Mouse Grandparents and the Applewood Cottage (I want the sister figure that comes with it).
