Ditto here.

I hope for your sake the surgeon didn't botch something.

Word of advice....always find out what your doctor really means when he say's "I am only going to need to remove a very small part of your vaginal lip". Who would have thought that what he really meant to say was "I have always wanted to know if I could recreate the Grand Canyon with nothing more than a scalpel and some flabby tissue". emoticon Guess what?? He totally succeeded. emoticon

Julia,

You have a history of not healing easily from a pre-existing condition, right? Could that be part of what's going on here? Couple that with a possible infection and you may have found the cause of the pain, swelling and bleeding.

Poor Julia. Please try to think about all the new SF kits that are waiting for you to play with and I'm sure that you will get better soon. emoticon

Shauna,

LOL....my husband can be a bit squeamish at times himself. emoticon

I used to have a nice grassy knoll before a crazy nurse lady came in with her pubic hair eating electric razor and cleared it all away. Now I know why. It was all part of the Mad Surgeons little scheme. If you build it....they will come so best make sure there is a large enough area cleared to accommodate all the needed parking spaces. emoticon

Beverly,

My biggest concern has been that I would developed an infection. However, my daughter took a look at it just a minute ago and said that it looked absolutely fine. More than likely the swelling, pain and bleeding are being caused by irritation. I can't move, sit or do hand stands without rubbing the area. Unfortunately, it is going to take a long time for this to heal. In the meantime, I plan to ask for a refill for my Demerol and am going to try using an icepack.

BerryMuffin,

One of the things that I have been doing to pass the time is making plans about how to use all my new toys when I set-up my display. emoticon I have so many options that it's hard to choose what I should use first. emoticon I know that I will never be able to use it all at once unless I expand the size of my Sylvanian Room drastically, so I have been thinking of different scenes that I can create. The possibilities are endless.

Julia,

This might be a good time to lay low for awhile - until the healing is complete. Rent scads of movies, read books, stay in bed or lay on the couch (two of my favourite places!). I'd miss my computer if I had to not sit, but the computer would always be there when I got better.

Beverly,

I couldn't agree more. I have reached my limit and am ready to give in to what my body is telling me. Even though I have been in my bed for weeks now I haven't really been resting. Truth be told, it has taken it's toll on me. I am physically, mentally and emotionally drained. I need to let myself heal.

Re: Life's Little Surprises!

I had an appointment with my Oncologist yesterday and this is what I found out.

Excellent News:

The results for the tests that were done during my surgery came in. I was told that I had Stage Three Vulvar Cancer, however it had been non-invasive. The surrounding areas were found to be clean with no signs of anything else developing. In short, I am now 100% Cancer Free.

Not Bad News But Not Good News:

Upon examination yesterday of my surgical site it was discovered that I had developed a slight infection. However, all that was needed to care for it was a round of antibiotic. I am now taking Penicillin twice a day.

Boys Are Stupid....Throw Rocks At Them News:

I was telling my Oncologist about the pain that I had been experiencing since my surgery and how it had been getting worse by the day. His reply to me..."I don't understand why you are experiencing so much pain since all you have is a superficial wound".

During his examination of the surgical site he decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to press as hard as he could on the area that I had just told him was giving me the most problems. As my back is lifting up off the examining table, my fists are clinched and my teeth are clamped shut (actually my gums since I have been to nauseated to wear my dentures) from the pain....he looks over at me and says "Oh, does that hurt?" My thought at the time....No, not at all....I am just practicing my method acting in case I am ever asked to play the role of a patient in pain.
