New Non-Sylvanian Video

I love making videos! This latest is several days' worth of timelapse videos of our Edmonton sky shot before, during and after the just-past summer solstice in June 2009. With slavish attention to editing, the video runs a quick 1:37 minutes long.

Please enjoy sometimes... a blue sky emoticon

Freaky emoticon I love the way the clouds roll over on themselves and boil togeather. Your wind seems to duck and dive around from all quarters. Its lovely!

Where live we have a stunning sea view of the sunsets, these are always best in autumn and winter when there is lots of cloud for the light to bounce off and light up. We laos get what I call "Moses Spots", that is when the sky is all cloudy and the sea is steely grey, then you het a small hole in the cloud and the sun shines through creating a spotlight on the water. I have always thought that these spots look like they should highlight some biblical character they look so dramatic.

Hi Shauna,

Yes, we have wind influences from everywhere. The video clips that make up the video were shot over a five day period. Some of the clips fun over the course of a day then onto the next, but there is a gap of two days somewhere in the middle.

We sometimes get a "Moses Spot" too, but not over any water. Your description of the dullness of the clouds and water makes it sound quite heavenly emoticon

So you're from NZ, eh? North or South Island? Any Vikings there? (Sorry. A bit of FOTC humour, there emoticon ) To live on the coast must be wonderful emoticon I'd much appreciate if you could point me to some websites showing NZ landscapes or other NZ sites that you know about.

We are ardent watchers of Flight of the Concords tv show emoticon I have several FOTC YouTube videos bookmarked and watch/listen to them often. Their low key manner is hilarious and their music is fantastic. In the last episode we saw, Brett, Gemaine and Murray were deported back to NZ emoticon I wonder if there will be another season. Two fave videos...

Thats funny, we dont get much FOTC here and it didnt take off tillit was big in the States, but yes I think NZ humour is quite dry and no-frills.

Since so much of NZ is coastal its hard not to live quite near, but yes we are very lucky to have such a view. Here is a link that shows som NZ photos, the sequence it plugs you in to is taken very near where I live and I walk past the Pauatahanui Inlet with my dog every day. Cathy18 lives in Titahi Bay (also in these photos) and we are about 10mins drive apart. My home susnsets look exactly like the Porirua Harbour sunset. This photo is taken just south (5mins)of where I live, I look out over the mouth of this harbour to Mana Is (also pictured).
Sorry, so excited to see pics of my home that Im bleathering on....&on.....&on emoticon

Shauna,

Thank you for the photos! The NZ landscape is beautifully rugged and green emoticon Long ago, before a mortgage, husband and child, I looked into travelling to NZ. I never did go since the cost was prohibitive back in the 70s and I thought my money was better spent on a downpayment on a place to live.

Now, I travel the world by meeting people online and letting them show me where they live. NZ is still on of my favourite places I'd go if I were to travel. Of coures, I'd also like to see Europe and go to Canada's most northern island, Ellesmere Island. Canada's Queen Charlotte Islands on the west coast are also on my hit list. But, I know I'll never visit any of them due to budget constraints.

Interesting about FOTC not being big in NZ until after the US tv show. On one episode, there was mention of the Toothbrush Fence. I'm thinking of gathering family toothbrushes and sending them to hang on the fence. How cool would that be emoticon
