The Travelling Sylvanian
While i was doing some research for a textile design project, i came across a blog entry that had an idea that intrigued me.Beverleys comments about travelling the world also got me thinking....
The idea is that we start a Travelling Sylvanian.A Sylvanian figure that we could send around the world to each other. The Little SF would arrive at his new destination for a visit, bearing a few small gifts for its new family and photos and information of his previous destination. The new host family could take photos of him around their house and town and then include these items when he is sent on again.I think that this would be a cool way for us to all share a bit more about ourselves and our homeland with each other. We could even post updates and photos on here for everyone else to follow.
I would love to start this so if any one is interested then please let me know...
Charissa

Re: The Travelling Sylvanian
Charissa what a fantastic idea, I love it If you are keen Id absolutely love to be involved. As for the figure I am not sure which SF's are of the travelling kind, maybe the Underwoods? I am fairly sure that like luggage lots of travelling will be hard on a wee SF but Im sure it would be worth it for all the experience
I will PM you my address if you want to go ahead.

Count me in too, even though he would not have far to travel between myself and Shauna.
I think it would be so much fun.

Re: The Travelling Sylvanian
Oh I ADORE this idea! It's sort of like the Flat Stanley thing that kids often get assigned to do at school.
Who will kick this off and organize, etc? I'd be willing to help!

Re: The Travelling Sylvanian
Okay,Im going to start this here in Australia, so i guess im looking for the closest person to me to send our little critter to first.
So far i think that Shauna will be first, then she can pass it on to Cathy, unless there is someone else here in Australia to send it to first?
Ill start interviewing the SFs i have that might like to travel the world, then pack them up with their "suitcase" and organise their travel documents. I should have them ready for travel by early next week so please let me know asap if you are in oz and want to be part of this, Otherwise Shauna can PM me her address.
Im so excited by this idea and im glad you are too!

Re: The Travelling Sylvanian
Yay!!! This going to be so much fun. I am sure there are others out there that would like to be involved too. Good on you Charissa for getting it started. Let us know which SF is the successful applicant after you have finished conducting the interviews

Re: The Travelling Sylvanian
FUN!!!I dont know whether I can but I was wondering which figure where using and of course it might need a companion to keep it company.I'm suggesting maybe one of the first families or a cat bcoz theyre my favourites!

Re: The Travelling Sylvanian
Yes, and post pictures here on who the winning Traveling Sylvanian is and what he/she will be bringing.
It's a great idea, Charissa!
