Ooo, cool I'm up for this emoticon I live in Brunei. I know the Pinky St forum I frequent had something like this at one point, before the travelling doll disappeared.

I suggest we either get a blog or a seperate thread that can be updated with pictures of the travelling Sylvanian when he visits each country.

I would like to participate as well so you can count me in. emoticon I live in Florida. However, I am still healing from my surgery so I am unable to get out to do anything right now so I need a few people to go ahead of me before the Traveling Sylvanian is sent to me. I am planning a road trip to Virginia around the 8th of August so it would be cool to have the little one to take with me if at all possible. emoticon

Very cool idea, Charissa! Count me in emoticon

I'd be willing to set up a section on my website with a page for the photos and text of each visit. The photos and text could then be added to a thread set up especially for the Travelling Sylvanian.

Which figure do you have in mind to do the travelling?

Some time ago I had a friend overseas do this. In fact it was a little more complicated. A certain fellow 'kidnapped' his wife's Mr Potatohead. Or is it 'potato-napped'.
He then sent it around the world and worse still had people sending anonymous reports on 'sightings'. I remember I was in Oz at the time and faxed a Wanted Poster featuring her beloved character to her office. Apparently he had decided to do a 'Ned Kelly' and got into trouble with the local authorities. It was a very popular jape at the time.

Might I suggest Aster Dandelion?

Re: The Travelling Sylvanian

Hi all,

Well i am still interviewing for the position of Travelling Sylvanian, but as i have had to go away from home this week i have had to put the sending on hold until next week.
I do really like the idea of using Aster Dandelion, but after thinking about the possibility of her getting lost, i would also have to acquire a replacement for my collection.Maybe someone could help me out by sending me another at some stage. emoticon
Anyway as soon as the SF is ready i will post a pic as requested.

I would go with an aged figure that is not critical to your collection. Maybe a duplicate. I dont have rabbits so I am sorry I cant help you with a replacement.

I agree with Shauna. I would not suggest sending any figure that is not easily replaced. Anything could happen to the little Traveling Sylvanian while in transit. So it really is best to air on the side of caution.

I am really excited about doing this and shock upon shock my husband actually thinks it is a really cool idea as well.emoticon Most of the time he could care less about my collection.

Julia

BTW: Where do I send my address?

Yes, a more common Sylvanian will be a good idea. And maybe a Sylvanian with darker color fur that doesn't show dirt easily. I can imagine after passing many hands that it will become grimy.
