Doesn't seem they carry it, which is a shame. -_-;

You might want to try Amazon...or maybe eBay. (It's that good.)

He is the same one that did Astro Boy and Kimba and Unico right? I know the style of the firebird from a film he made about protecting nature that has never been shown to the public on DVD emoticon

I collect Maple Town. I love the giant Ferris Wheel which fits the large size Sylvanians plus the train. The figures are cute too although Sylvanians are better made.

Sorry I didn't notice this post before. ^_^;

Yep, it's all Tezuka: Astro Boy, Kimba, Unico...matter of fact, Unico was the first bit of Tezuka I was ever exposed to, though I didn't realize it for many years.

Tezuka touched upon a lot of philosophical and societal issues in his work: as a result, a fair bit of the canon is pretty hard-hitting, and some of his more obscure works are definitely not for younger readers.

On the brighter side of things, if I haven't mentioned it already, you should see if you can find a copy of Astro Boy for GBA. It's developed by Treasure, the company behind legends such as Gunstar Heroes and Sin & Punishment, and it's quite possibly the best brawler on GBA in addition to being a vast collection of in-references to the rest of the Tezuka canon.

The only gripe that i have about Maple town is that some people on eBay try to flog them off as sylvanians.I cant tell you how many time i have seen RARE Monkey/ horse/ elephant Family and wanted to email the seler and tell them to change the description!! i think that some naive buyers will also pay lots of moey for these so-called rare items thinking that they are SF.Personlly i think its so easy to tell the difference and of course i think SF is way better..but thats just me.

The Maple Town or Forest friends being sold as Sylvanians annoys me too. I buy and sell both but never misrepresent one as another. I don't even cross reference names in the auctions. I think the non Sylvanian sellers do it to get a higher price as probably hardly anybody searches Forest Familes or Maple Town.

Speaking of Maple Town. I have the pink mapletown post office, does anyone know if it would be worth anything if I sold it? It's in pretty good condition, it has slight fading on the white windows...but thats about it. I still have the removable veranda and ladder that comes with it too.

I had the Fox and Squirrel families as a kid, and I think that's what paved for me to start collecting SF/CC now as an adult, even though I've just began! I still have Squire Squirrel, and I would like to have the two families I had back. But I'm on this quest to get the toys back I sold or gave away when I was in my teens and believed for awhile that growing up was a good thing. :P

Re: Maple Town?

Trivia time: his name's Robert Rithmond in the Japanese version, where all the character surnames are plays on their species ("Rithmond" -> "Risumondo" -> "risu" = "squirrel") rather than full-on species surnames. And they don't adopt the alliterative style that so annoys me about the U.S. version (his daughter is Judy, for instance), and as for the foxes, they're Diana Konderik ("kon" = the sound a fox makes), younger brother Karl, mother Chirine ("ki-ree-nay") and father Hans.

...I spent a lot of time researching Maple Town. ^_^;

I am quite fond of Maple Town. Regarding Tezuka's works, a US company did grab the rights for Unico in the past year. Hopefully they will release it. Next time RightStuf has a Media Blasters sale I will likely grab Hi no Tori
