What else do you collect?
Hi everyone-
Hmm, I am not sure this is the correct forum for this, but I will give it a try. I am curious what other Sylvanian collectors collect. I'm also curious about the age of other collectors? I suspect there are many collectors in their 20's like myself who were exposed to the figures or of course Maple Town when they were young (I'm 28 and a guy (I expect that's less common??)).
As for my collections. I spent many, many years collecting Disneyana. I was studying animation at the time so it went right along with it. I am still very focused on the realm of cute, character toys, but have spread out a little. My biggest collection of recent years has been Playmobil. I actually just began disassembling a large Playmobil layout to free up space in my space. I love gashapon from Japan and am acquiring much PlaRail at the moment- another toy that takes up too much space. Tomy is a favorite toy company.
so what about the rest of you?

Re: What else do you collect?
I'm 26 and have been in love with Sylvanian Families since I was 8 years old. I still have the picture of me playing with my first items - the Country Manor house, furniture and Corntop Rabbits - on Christmas morning (dressed in a hideous 80's outfit I might add!).
I collect Snoopy as well, although am thinking of selling off my collection to get more money in my PayPal account to spend on Sylvs!

Re: What else do you collect?
I'm 21, nearly 22 and I mainly collect just Sylvanians, I did collect ponies for a while but they didn't give me the same feeling as Sylvanians do. Didn't get the same excitement of finding rare ones etc.
As for what else I collect, I do collect Disney DVD's but thats about it. My other big hobby is cross stitching so I guess I have a lot of that type of stuff lying around aswell.

Re: What else do you collect?
I'm 28 (29 in march) and I collect lions, money from around the world and wooden carvings like masks from Africa. I used to collect Russ Trolls and had hundreds until my first husband's puppy ate them all one day while I was at work. I still have a few but I don't collect them anymore. I used to love SF as a child, but because I was one child in a family of 16 kids, we couldn't afford them. I came across the Evergreen Family on ebay in 2004 and that got me interested in them again, I starting collecting seriously in Feb of 2005.

Re: What else do you collect?
To begin with, I am 46 and will be 47 in March. I started my collection in February of last year. I was unfamiliar with Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families until that time. When my daughter's were younger, the oldest didn't have any interest in having a dollhouse and the youngest had a Playskool Dollhouse. It is the only reason that I can come up with as to why I missed the whole Calico Critter/Sylvanian Families trend. In a way, I am kind of glad about that because it gave me something new to discover. As for collecting anything else, I have a wonderful collection of dust that hasn't cost a dime, which gives me more money to spend on my Sylvanians.

Re: What else do you collect?
I collect Care Bears and Hello Kitty. I think that Sylvanians may start to take priority now though!
