Re: What else do you collect?
Im 28 (in 5 more days)and SF is my main collection now.
Until Recently i had an entire and Rare collection of LEGO Paradisa, but i sold it all to get more SF spending money.I still have regular LEGO too, and both of my younger brothers (26 & 22) also collect some type of lego. I have Barbie dolls,MLP and i also have My Child dolls and CPKs too( these are much smaller collections since i had to downsize while pregnant in 2005).So im a regular 80s child as you can see...ha ha.

Re: What else do you collect?
I've been collecting little miniature china animal paperweights for about 14 years http://www.royalcrownderby.co.uk/products/product-range/collectables/paperweights/
and also Radley handbags which have a mini scottie dog on them. I think there is a theme here!

Re: What else do you collect?
My wife and I are in our mid thirties (35) and my wife was a very serious Playmobil collector before I met her. She also collects french toys & games called Djeco and Zamiloo and some German items called Haba.
We have our own seperate room just for storing toys and nothing else. We have no shelves or anything it is just a whole room stacked from the floor up with Playmobil and SF only.
We started collecting SF about 1 year ago, and our collection stands at about 220 figures (which is a small collection) but we have most of the current buildings including some larger rare ones (grand mansion, most of the Misty Forest buildings, grand manor, willow hall, 2 windmills, primrose park, sylvanian rose, meadowcroft cottage, lock keepers cabin, grand hotel.
We are getting more and more into SF and less into Playmobil as we go along.

Re: What else do you collect?
Apart from Sylvanians I collect quite a few other things. Although I am trying to cut back, clear the clutter and put the cash into what I think is most important...like food and rent, lol
I collect Disney DVD's, and lots of Eeyore beanies and Tinkerbell ornaments...I also have a small collection of snow globes and glass or crystal orbs, some of which are Eeyore/Tinkerbell related. I'm a big lover of fairies in general, and wizards...so I do collect alot of fairy related items and have a small collection of pewter wizard statues. Also I'm a huge Buffy fan and have amassed a large collectoion of DVD's, cd's, magazines, books and comics related to that. And Harry Potter and Belville lego too...though I don't have so much of that, its quite expensive. I'm even considering selling my Bellville lego at some point. Probably my most prized collection would be the Unseen Library editions of terry Pratchett's discworld, I almost have the first 18 or so and they're beautiful books...yes, I'd say I probably collect books too.
As a collector I'm very picky. Like I won't just buy anything thats eeyore/buffy/fairy etc. I'm fussy about what items I add to my collection and what I don't, and I'm not too concerned about things being hard to find or really rare. As long as I like them thats what counts.
I'm 26, going to be 27 at christmas and I've been a collector (or a hoarder as my mum calls me) since I was a child.

Re: What else do you collect?
Chel,
You just made me realize that I actually do collect more than just Sylvanians like I previously stated. I am an avid reader and have tons of books that I have bought over the years. I also absolutely love Dragons and have a few of them. Although two of the ones that I have are supposed to be used outdoors. I have one for my roof and one to hold my mailbox. The other Dragon I have is an indoor clay statue. He was the first one that I ever got and his name is McDuff. My roof Dragon's name is Apex and my mailbox Dragon is Zippy. However, all three are living in my bedroom right now. They will eventually be moved outside and used as they are suppose to be, but hurricane season is fast approaching so they are best left where they are. These are the only three that I have at this time, but I actually do plan on adding to my Dragon collection later on. I am just very particular about the one's that I buy. I also have a huge collection of DVD's. Not only do I have complete series such as Buffy, Disney, Lost, The 4400, Charmed, Smallville, ect. but also many, many movies. I never really thought of any of these things as being collections until you pointed it out in your post. Wow, what an eye opener.

Re: What else do you collect?
Chel, thats just what my mum calls me, a horder. You wouldn't believe how much you could cram in a flat! Sylvanians and books are my only collections. I always have about 30 - 40 books waiting to be read. I'm known as book worm as I always have my nose in a book. You can't move in my bedroom for my books piled everywhere and Sylvanians stored on every available space. Oh, I am another one who is 28 by the way.

Re: What else do you collect?
Julia,
Dragons! I love dragons. Not a collector of them though, but I do love the carved wooden ones that I keep seeing in certain shops (you know the sort of shops where you can buy incense, crystals, and that sort of stuff...my favourite kind of shop!) I do have a beautiful framed silk print of a dragon though, its one of my favourite things ever as it was a gift for my 21st birthday from my oldest and dearest friend. So in a way its one of the best bits of my collection as a whole, but isn't something I collect...if that makes sense? After reading your post and the names of your dragon statues I'm inspired to name my wizards!
And as for DVD's, yeah I'd consider it a collection of sorts. I'm trying to stick to special editions only for Disney movies and my favourite movies, and I'm loving collecting TV series on DVD. I'm going through a bit of a Smallville phase at the moment too as Season 7 just started to air over here in the UK. I think it started because I'd watched Buffy, Angel and Firefly over and over and over again until I thought my head would explode.
Steph,
I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets called that! And I'm looking forward to being able to finally spread all my stuff out in a flat/house of my own, right now it's all in my room with me and the cats. I'm going through a big clutter clearance right now though, finally being brave and geting strict. I think it'll mostly be clothes, shoes, accesories and childhood items that aren't as well loved as sylvanians going...but I'm hoping to make enough space to be able to buy MORE sylvanians and lots more books and dvd's! I also have about 20 or so books waiting to be read. I don't read as much now as I did three years ago, but thats mainly due to trying to fit it all in. I'm studying hard right now and I find that getting too into a book or a computer game tends to push more important bits of knowledge out of my head. I don't want to get to exam time and start writing jibberish about Discworld history or the best luck stats for my mage!
