Build-a-Bear Workshop
Let's talk about BABW! Please feel free to post PICTURES of your collection in this thread - no matter how small it is! We want to see. ^__^
I first encountered BABW maybe five or six years ago when one opened in the Ontario Mills Mall in Ontario, California. I thought the idea was interesting, but the quality of the animals was unimpressive and the prices of things were too high for that low quality. I thought it would go out of business in short order. Was I wrong or what?
The animals improved in quality tremendously over the next few years and, when I went back to one (in 2006, after having moved to Hawai'i) I was absolutely hooked.
This picture is my whole collection as of last December. I've slowed down the rate at which I collect them since then - I just don't have the room! - but I've added all four Gem of a Friend teddies, the groundhog, the new turkey, the new version of Champ Bear, and the smiling open-mouthed bear since this picture was taken.
Barely visible or cut out of the picture are the koala, Cookie Monster, Elmo, and on the left the blue seasonal teddy is only partially visible. In the upper right rear, hidden behind everyone else, is one of the 100th Anniversary teddy bears.
Now for a picture of my favorite bear. I named her Ohana, which is Hawaiian for "family." (I named her sister, Champ II, "Hanai," which is Hawaiian for "adoption." There are reasons behind those names, and it has to do with the patches each bear wears.) On a day I went down to the beach, I just dressed her up in hula gear and took her with.

Re: Build-a-Bear Workshop
Wow! That's a lot of BABW dolls! My daughter has two - a Sassy white kitty cat and a light pink bear. She has a BABW pink closet full of outfits for her two friends. She has a hula costume, a witch costume, a ballerina costume, Disney Ariel costume, a ball gown, and 4 sets of shoes. I'm thinking of getting her some more outfits for her BABW friends for Christmas. But more animals? Perhaps not.
Oh by the way, I live 10 minutes from the Ontario Mills mall in California. That's where we shop! Isn't that funny?

Small world, DeafCandy!
I miss the Target Greatland in Fontana, the specialty toy store 'Boon Companion' in Claremont, and all In n Out Burgers, Farmer Boys, and Juan Pollos. Oh well. The next time you happen to find yourself at any of those fine establishments, think of me? XD

Re: Build-a-Bear Workshop
Mirenithil,
(Gasp) The Boon Companion in Claremont! That's the closest toy shop to me that carries Calico Critters. I go there every other week.
The food establishments you mentioned, I take for granted. Yum! There's a burger place in Maui that I just love, called Paradise Burgers or something like that. My mouth just melts!
Oops, I'm sidetracking the topic..my bad!

Re: Build-a-Bear Workshop
You have an amazing collection! I only have three BAB dolls- all three of the hello kitty BABs and all the HK outfits (and then some). I see you also have the tan Kitty, which happens to be my favorite. :-)

Re: Build-a-Bear Workshop
I saw the new turkey and it is so cute!
I am trying to cut down on my plush collection, as I have a small room and no space to put them in. But I would love to get a Philly Phanatic! You can only get him in Philadelphia at the ballpark and I would want him for sentimental reasons.
You have a sizeable collection there!
