My first Sylvanian House.....lots of pics
Here is a picture of the full view of the back of my house. I have still to lay the bathroom floor tiles and decorate the kitchen.
Here are some pictures of the living room.

Re: My first Sylvanian House.....lots of pics
Hi Charissa, Thank you! It's nice that other people like it and they don't just think I'm a bit mad for doing this at my age.
I can't wait to get it finished but it took ages to find something nice to decorate the kitchen with, but I've ordered some tiles over the internet, they should be here any day now. After halloween I'm going to get on and get it finished. I will post pics when it's done.
In the meantime here are some more close up shots of the rest of the house.
Here is the nursery. I am thinking of changing the cot for the one with the light on.
This is the children's room. You can't really see from these pictures but it has rag rolled effect wallpaper in lilac.
And The master bedroom.

Re: My first Sylvanian House.....lots of pics
Oh I almost forgot to show you a close up of the bathroom!
I've put bits and pieces from lots of different Sylvanian sets into the house and also a couple of doll house bits. The wooden cart in the nursery with the building blocks was from the doll house shop in Dublin city centre. Also the rugs and the ornamental dogs on the hearth were purchased from there.
Most of my collection was bought for me as gifts. A few bits were bought by my friends but most of it was from my Fiance. He is a tattoo artist and he is covered in tattoos and piercings. He must love me tons because he is never bothered by the funny looks he gets when he goes into the toy shop on his own to buy cute Sylvanian stuff for me!
He bought "Bathtime with Mother" for me as a surprise because he knew how much I liked the outfit on the little girl.

Re: My first Sylvanian House.....lots of pics
Cheryl,
Your wallpapering effort is excellent.I have also wallpapered my Oakwood Manor and know how tricky it can be.
I love looking at the way other people set up their houses as most of your rooms are configured differently to mine and its so nice to see another way to display the rooms.
I also love your style of decorating, i too love the fun of mixing and matching the sets and making a display that looks like the SFs actually live there and only walked out of the room so you could take a picture!
Charissa
P.S No one on here will ever think you are mad for collecting SFs "at your age". We are all besotted by them too BTW, I always say that SF are far to detailed and special to only be for children.

Re: My first Sylvanian House.....lots of pics
Thank you Beverly and thank you Charissa. After looking at both of your pictures it has inspired me to go and take some pictures of the sets I have. (Well it's a good excuse to get them out of boxes and set them all up.) I think I'm going to try for a village green type set up. I don't have backgrounds though and I need some ideas, what do you guys use as temporary back drops to your scenes?

Re: My first Sylvanian House.....lots of pics
Very nice indeed!
I love the ambience given from the lighting. I know the time and effort it takes to decorate these babies and you have done a fantastic job!

Re: My first Sylvanian House.....lots of pics
Thanks littlebearspark. I'd like to add more lights but they are quite difficult to get hold of here. I found some on ebay for $12.95 but the postage to Ireland is more than the cost of the item.
I am still waiting for the new wallpaper and flooring to arrive so I can crack on with the kitchen, it's been 12 days since I ordered it and no sign of it yet.
