2 more shops . . .
I continue to work on packing up my collection to move it on to a toy museum. Here are 2 of my favourites that I am very sad to let go.
NORWOOD AND SONS CARPENTERS . . .
Martika made her Norwood and Sons into a newsagent. I made mine into a carpentry shop. I used some of the tool sets from the 1980's and a 1:12 metal tool kit.
CHINA BLUE
My china shop was made with Asian miniatures like Re-ment including Hello Kitty and a very small Sylvanian set. I have completely forgotten where the SF came from!!!
. . . The dress on the rabbit is one I am pretty sure I got off Wendy!
I have lots more photos of these that I can upload if anyone is particularly interested in any detail. Just ask!
Enjoy!

Re: 2 more shops . . .
Thanks Cathy,
I will share more photos of other "habitats" soon. There were 60 odd "habitats" in my collection so I have just shared four of my favourites here on this thread because they were a bit individual and not just straight SF product.
If there is any particular detail you would like to see from the four shops e.g. all the tools lined up or inside the china cabinets I am happy to post photos to show more of the detail of the shops I have already posted. Let me know exactly what it is you would like to see so I don't clutter up the site too badly with my obsessions!!!!

Re: 2 more shops . . .
Thanks Berry Muffin,
If you check out the Gallery Thread by All4her on "Pettyfur's Pizza - another project requested by dd" you will see amazing photos on her pizza shop. I have added a couple of my pizza shop which pales in comparison!
I have also added photos of my mole habitat to Wellermade's thread "Those Marvelous Moles & Voles".
Watch this space as rather that create more threads I am probably better to just start a single one and all my photos there.
The sale of my collection happened very quickly. I was approached on a Friday and they collected half my collection 2 days later on the Sunday! There was little time to take great photos or even say goodbye.
I am regretting that but not really regretting selling the collection as I know now that it is going to stay together and be enjoyed by many.

Re: 2 more shops . . .
I love your China shop! Very creative. I also recognized some of the tools you have that I got back in the 80s from a hobby shop. I still have mine.
May I ask why are you selling your collection to a museum? Are you planning to sell them all or just most of them?

Re: 2 more shops . . .
Lots of reasons really. Last year I got divorced and had to move out of the home where they were all displayed. I then committed to going on a cruise to the Meditterranean with my Mum that I could ill afford but it was on the Bucket List. I am not getting any younger and this will be Mum's last trip. TO be honest we will both be lucky to survive it!!!
Interestingly I am in the process of reconciling with my partner and I had given up on the idea of selling. (The other woman has dumped him and he is feelingvery sorry for himself!) I had approached the museum in the early part of our divorce proceedings. Then they rang me out of the blue. They wanted it. They wanted it immediately and I sold it for a song on an impulse! Probably less than half what it was worth on the collectors market. But I am happy that it is staying together as a collection. Others will enjoy it and I can always visit it and I have about 1/3 of the money it is going to cost me to go cruising for a month.
I am of course stopping off in Singpore on the way home and Rocky has givenme pointers on shopping for SF already. So I guess I get to start all over again!!! I get that this is a disease but I don't know of any 12 step programmes for recovery from Sylvanians!!!
Thanks for asking!

Re: 2 more shops . . .
It's very sweet of you to take your mum on a cruise. I'm sure you will feel great about it whenever you look back. Besides, I'm sure your SF collection will grow rapidly and might be even bigger and better!
Good luck with everything.
