The museum is in a very beautiful part of the South Island. It is just outside Wanaka which is quite close to Queenstown. It is in the mountainous lake district of the southern end of the South Island. The area is also famous for skiing, adventure tourism and a war planes airshow (every two years - it's EXCITING we try not to miss it!) and a pemanent exhibition of the early aircraft and war planes.
I am going to post photos of the collection when they have it on disply so people get an idea. They have an enormous collection which is all the work of one man. An obsessive millionaire who has made it his life's work. Things aren't particularly well displayed but at least they will be on show.
I am proud of the collection because having seen photos of the Sylvanian Village in Japan on Princess Rings site I think my houses etc were much more interesting with more furniture and characters than any I saw in the photos of the village.
Watch this spot and I will keep you posted!

What a roller coaster ride! I love Norwood and sons.I have collected all the SF tool sets plus some spares myself with a similar idea in mind, but with a dissaproving husband, two young children a cat and now a puppy I have never managed to complete any of my projects. They are terribly detailed in my mind but it is soooo much better to see them all put togeather like yours. Have you done a barber? If so can you please add a picture? Somehow a barber shop seems much more SF than a beauty salon.
I am already scheeming how to get to Wanaka over the summer. Its not like its a short hop, but we have family in Chch and friends who camp at Glendu Bay every summer who we could perhaps go and visit.... still thinking!
