We will just all have to study Japanese to give us an excuse to visit Japan. We'll bring an extra suitcase or three, and visit their big Sylvanian store. *angelic smile* I would polish my halo, but the Made in China sticker might come off.

Mirinithil,
My son is stationed in Japan and I will be going to visit him in March/April of 2010. We are going to be meeting in Tokyo and will be staying in Tokyo for a week or two before we go to his base. I am going to be in Japan for approximately 2 months. I already plan to visit the Sylvanian Families store and warned my husband to expect a very large box to be shipped home.  In order to have enough time to plan my trip is one of the reasons that I am not going until 2010. Also, I want to go to the Cherry Blossom Festival, but wouldn't be able to make it by this March. I honestly can't wait. My son is even paying for us to ride the Bullet Train from Tokyo to his base.

Julia, where in Japan is your stationed? My little brother is in the Marines and stationed in Okinwawa. He is expected to complete his service by March 2010. Wouldn't it be cool if you and I went to Japan in March 2010 and bumping into each other at a Sylvanian Families store ? LOL!

Hi Candy,
Ben is in the Air Force and stationed in Misawa, Japan. My Dad was in the Marine Corps for 31 years and retired as an E-9. He worked Intelligence. He did many a tour in Okinawa while he was in. Ben wanted to join the Marines, but my Dad talked him out of it recommending the Air Force instead. According to my Father, the Marines are not what they used to be. I'm not sure if I am going to get to go to Japan at all. Ben told us this past weekend that he may be deploying to Iraq. If this happens, he may end up back in the States after his deployment ends. However, if I do get to go maybe you and I can have a play date at the Sylvanian Shop.  That would be so much fun. I know that my son would be thrilled to be able to get out of going with me. LOL

I'm not surprised they waited until the Christmas season, as I believe Sylvanians came out around Christmas in 1984. So that makes sense.

I think the Epoch might be heading for the 25th Anniversary of the Offical launched of Sylvanian Families rather than the 25th Year. Sylvanian Families were launched in March 1985(Source: Japanese Wikipedia) so that would make sense why Epoch has been hold out that long.
