You have to upload an avatar to an online photo service host like Photobucket.com and then type in the URL under your Avatar settings. The maximum dimensions is 60 x 60 pixels.
I hope this helps. If you still don't understand my explanations, i'll go further when i'm home and able to get some screenshots done up to explain.

I checked the link and that's a pretty big image you've got as your avatar...
You might want to upload another version at 60x60 pixels (the size of my avatar, and the maximum Runboard allows).

Use a paint program to scale it down. I recommend The GiMP myself.
