Rare Figures of the Future, or ones set to become even rarer
I'm having particular trouble finding the old Tomy Owls. I have them from childhood but I've been trying to upgrade them. They always seem to be missing their vests.
I know we had a topic like this over on the old boards but what else do we anticipate becoming rare or rarer over the next say ten years. I'd also put a marker on the UK Dappledawns. I recently paid a fair amount for a MIB set of four.

Re: Rare Figures of the Future, or ones set to become even rarer
I have the same problems with the owls vests, and the fathers hat keeps falling off...it came with some stick tape that held it in place, but now its so old it just falls off.
I did see an owl set in the UK shop yesterday, but I didn't pay much attention to wether it was Tomy of Flair as I was too busy looking at everything else.

I couldn't agree more on the Dappledawns ! Other families I would say are raries are
*Tomy Bulrushes
*Oakwoods Squirrels
*Catwood Cats
*Solitare Cats
Another one possibly would be the Plume Owls and the Flair retrired it in 2005 two years after its released so I'd say they will be sought-after. Same goes for the Dream Project White Owls.

Re: Rare Figures of the Future, or ones set to become even rarer
The most sought after families right now are the Renards, Dappledawns, and JP Ivory rabbits. A year ago everyone was looking for Bullrushes and Bamboos, but they've really tapered off.
But, I fully expect these families to be re-released at some point, but I think that for most UK families. I've heard one of the rare UK families is being re-released next year, but I'm not aloud to tell you which one (so please don't ask.)
As for what will become rare over the next 10 years, here are my picks:
UK: Renards, Porridge bears, Dappledowns, Snow-Warrens
US: Exclusive twin sets, like the Waters and Bullrushes
JP: Dream project and market families (especially the white cats), grandparent sets, exchange students (especially the koalas), Ivory rabbits
The biggest jumpers in price lately is definitely the JP Ivory rabbits. I couldn't give them away a few years ago and now everyone wants them.
That's off the top of my head. If I think of more, I'll add another post.

I do see the Catwood Cats from time to time on Ebay.
I would like to see a re-release of the Oakwood Squirrels.

I am afarid , I will disapoint you from that. I had a reliable source from the UK telling me that Flair doesn't have the Oakwood Squirrel molds anymore. They destroyed them.

Ditto to what Rocky said and I think another mold was destroyed too, though I forgot which one.

Probably the old Chestnut raccoon mold. After they came out with the Mulberries, there would be no need for that mold anymore.
I also doubt we will ever see the original Slydale family again (because of the honey fox re-make), but they obviously didn't destroy the mold because the Underwood badgers and Renard foxes are the same mold.
Maybe with the Hazelnut Dormice they will finally destroy the Thistlethorn/Meadows mold. Boy would that be great.

I have a feeling it could have been now you've mentioned it.
I'm not a big fan of the new Honey Fox mold, I'm feeling a bit bombarded by all the new molds recently

Re: Rare Figures of the Future, or ones set to become even rarer
On another note though, its going to be hard to tell what will become rare in the flair range because they rerelease so much. I know I'm finding the Flair Snowarrens difficult to find in reasonable shape.
