Let there be light!

I wanted to ask if anyone has added lighting to their buildings other than the already available Sylvanian lighting. I was toying with the idea and wondered how straight forward a task it would be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! emoticon

I don't know that much about lighting other than dollhouse sized lights which have a scale of 1:12 and are smaller than Sylvanian scale, if I remember correctly. Here are a few links that will give you an idea of what's involved....

BTW, I Googled "how to wire doll houses for lights" to get these results. I have not done this myself, though.

Ahh thanks Beverly, I have taken a quick look at all four and the latter one seems the most informative, I will endeavour to study them all at length. I will have a House on the Hill to decorate for my daughter after Christmas and may use this as my 'guinea pig'.

I feel a Winter project comming on.....emoticon

If you are going to the trouble of wiring the house for lighting, why not put in ceilings, wallpaper, curtains and floor covering emoticon Whatever you decide to do, I'd love to see photos emoticon

Unfortunately, I have a lot on my plate at the moment, but fully intend to have a go at this lighting thing and anything else decorating wise.

I know some of you may view it as sacrilege and prefer to see the buildings bare emoticon but each to their own as they say.

I will definately post photographs once I have completed a conversion with lighting. emoticon

If anyone has done any building renovations then I would love to photos and also post them on my web site. emoticon

If I hadn't already stuck down the furniture in all of my buildings, I'd be tempted to fix them up with wallpaper, flooring and lighting. I have so many buildings, though. It would take forever emoticon
