HELP! What is this . . .

I know it looks like the Japanese Miniature House Shop but the packaging looks so totally unfamiliar that I am concerned that it is a fake. The packaging does say Sylvanian Families but even that logo doesn't look right.
Any ideas? I have been offered it for a very good price but not so got that I would be happy with a fake!

I bought one of these several years ago -possibly the same seller as she had two at the time and I dont remember the other selling. My box was quite tatty (like this one) BUT the items match exactly what is in the miniture house shop and it seems genuine. At the time the seller told me she had purchased two in Ausi some years earlier for her daughters or grand daughters, perhaps and Australian member may recognise it. I have not had it out for a couple of years and was wondering about it when I saw the new version on SF Shop site.

I dug mine out of the pile last night and had a nother good look at it. It dosnt say who its manufactured by anywhere on the box which looks highly dubious.
That being said the set itself is quite reasonable and as a shop its a cheap alternative and I havent seen any faux pas in the pieces.

Its a fake, definately. Although, I has to admit this one is probably the most relistic fake SF I've seen.

An interesting thing is that the pictures on the box show the shop displayed with genuine SF figures. There are of course no figures included.

I also noticed that the shop sign already has the sticker on it. I have the JP version of this and none of the signs have the stickers on them yet. It is something that has to be done when you are setting up the shop.

I have owned the original Japanese one from Pearl at All99. It went to the museum and is one that I miss the most. THis was offered to me for 15 NZ dollars probably around $20 NZ all up. Very cheap.I didn't buy it BTW!

Thanks Shauna and Julia. After all that I purchased it when it was listed at a lower price. Just to satisfy my curiosity more than anything! It will arrive here for under NZ$20. I am wishing now I had kept my original one!!!!! I would love to have compared the two.
