Hawk Nelson Concert The other day Hawk Nelson played after the Twins game and I was kind of disappointed, not in Hawk Nelson (they were great) but in speakers. They weren't very convinceing and they seemed to reenforce the sterotype of christains. That there is two kind of ppl, the ppl who believe in Christ and those who arn't and who r going to hell which is a hellishly bad painfully sucky place, which it is. Then the speaker used some word like implore you to accept Christ into your life NOW.
Personally I think that's one of the most ineffective ways to get someone who is a non-believer to come to Christ. I wouldn't even go down that road that there r 2 kinds of ppl Christians and those non followers and I wouldn't say I implore or some simlar word to get ppl to turn to Jesus. Personally I'd use the encourage instead of word like implore (idk if that was the word he used but it was something w/ a similar meaning).
There wasn't anything that stood out as be aboviously bad but just seemed to lack a reason to turn to God.
I think they seemed to miss the fact that God wants the best for you and through his son Jesus this is possible. I'd rather focus on the fact that we all r children of God and that he has our best interests in mind. That's why we call him Father cuz he's like our parents who in general have our best interests at heart. And in that respect I realized why sometimes we as well as other ppl don't follow God or brush him off. I'm sure you all have been to proud to take ur parents advice maybe cuz they made u mad, got u on the defensive, or u think u know better or something else. I think the same is ture for why we don't listen to God. Some trying to witness to others gets their target audiance feeling guilty or offends them makeing them less willing to come to accept Jesus into their life.

Re: Hawk Nelson Concert yeah it was...I mean like what you said was, not what the speakers were saying...that was bad and it's really sad to think that the people who are trying to bring people to God could actually be pushing people further away from Him
