"actually... i think this song is about selling out.
he's responding to the criticism that Relient K's been getting.
the first verse is talking about how even though there's been some changes in the past years they're still the same people and they're still trying to do the same thing's they've been doing.
and then the chorus is talking about the "scene and herd" or the mainstream radio and how he doesn't want to "go down that road" because it "seems to make it all a little bit worse."
then the third verse is again response to criticism and stating that it doesn't matter whether people respect them enough to buy their songs. it just matters that they're "having a good time"
and the bridge... it's a bit of a disclaimer saying "well, i just had to get this off my chest. sorry if it's not something you'd like to hear." and then it elaborates on the "scene and herd" analogy."
