Aly and AJ
I don't like them, but the Jonas Brothers thread was turning into an aly and aj thread, so i just decided to start one. ok so here's why i don't like them: i read this magazine called BRIO. but you've probably all figured that out by now. lots of girls read BRIO to learn more about God and strengthen their faith and things like that. well, in December, aly and aj were on the cover. you could clearly tell that they were wearing hair extensions, waaaaaaay to much makeup, fake eyelashes, and clothes that didn't even look real. well, a lot of girls didn't like that, because we don't want our Christian magazine looking like all the other teen mags w/ plastic people on the cover who don't live in the real world. and, we don't want Disney girls in our magazine. we don't want two girls who wear belly shirts in their music videos trying to set examples for us. i saw one of their videos on the gospel music channel once, and i couldn't believe it was actually on there cuz aj's shirt was very clearly too short. it was like...6 or 7 inches too short  . ok, to me, they look like britney spears wanna-bes or something. and it doesn't help that they don't sing about God, but they are Christians (of course, Christians shouldn't be wearing belly shirts either). i'm not trying to sound prejudice or anything, but that's just what i think.

Hey have u guys heard of Jessie Daniels? I think she had one of her songs on Radio Disney or something.

yeah i've heard of her. i saw one of her music videos on the gospel music channel. i don't think there's anything wrong w/ a Christian singer having a song on radio disney, I just hate how Aly and AJ are like always on like Disney shows and Disney commercials w/ their fake hair and eyelashes and their plastic looking faces completely smothered in makeup...lol. ok maybe not completely smothered in makeup, but still. have you noticed how they always like just look perfect? there's nothing wrong with looking good, but i think there's something wrong w/ 2 girls who are supposed to be good Christian role models always wearing fake hair and eyelashes and wearing belly shirts and...they kinda look like Britney Spears wanna-bes to me. but that's just what i think. i don't wanna start a debate here or anything so...

Actually I just wrote in the JB thread about how it's hard for some people to write songs about God. And I also wrote about how they have this song called "Never Far Behind" where their talking about how God is always by your side. The chorus is:
"I will always be your friend
I know who you are inside
I am with you til the end
Never far behind
I am standing in the distance
You can take your time
I will be here waiting
Never far behind
Yeah never far behind"
One of the lines actually says "God is never far behind."

From what I've heard of their music I like it! But I agree about the clothes...there are a few things I would change about their wardrobe. But I'm not them and I can't control that. So all I can do is live with it and dress modestly myself.
