3 Weeks Done

Well the first 3 weeks have been completed on my 'Access into Nursing' course and the assignments have well and truely kicked in.

Last weekend was putting together my PS which thankfully only needed minor changes. I'm in the process of trying to get some voluntary work at the local hospital which I've also been advised will look favourable on my Personal Statement as I have no caring background (so to speak).

This weekend I'm battling with 'Simple Squamous Epithelia' and finding it difficult. I understand the work, I'm just struggling with how to put it to paper. I left school 17 years ago as an okay student but was focussed on joining the working world and earning some money, so putting together an assignment is proving tricky. I've never referenced before and as for introductions and conclusions! I'm sure I just used to ramble on in essay's and hope for the best. But as difficult as I'm finding it at the moment I'm doing it with a smile and a confidence that in a months time, when I've got my head around it all, it'll be that much easier.

This morning I started filling in the UCAS application with much excitement and looking forward to Wolverhampton UNI open day on 31st Oct. Is there any students from Wolverhampton UNI on the forum?

Well it's back to describing the function of alveoli and trying not to shout at the kittens for running off with my pencils

Re: 3 Weeks Done

Hi

I've just started my DipHE in Adult nursing at Wolverhampton. I also did the access course, but i did mine over 2 years part-time.
Like you, I haven't got a 'care' background but I have heard that it helps with your application. There are more people on my course with that kind of work background than without!
Hope this helps emoticon
