Christmas Break
Hello all
First day of the Christmas break today (nearly 4 weeks off, unbelievable) and feeling pretty fantastic to have gotten this far on the Access course without any scars. The workload is starting to get pretty intense with a research project to get underway, an essay to write, a seminar to prepare and a practical experiment to write up, a busy break indeed. The amount of students that have dropped out is staggering, with one of my classes having only 4 students. One college friend quite rightly pointed out yesterday that the less people in the class, then the less people we have to present our seminars to. If anyone has any tips on how to stop you turning in to a trembling wreck when presenting in front of people it would be greatly appreciated! My voice always seems to change to an embarrassing pitch and my lips judder like its minus 10’
I’ve applied to Wolverhampton UNI to start in Sept 08 and my application is awaiting consideration, yayyyyyyy……. I went to a taster day at the UNI a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic. The tutors were very welcoming and took us through a week in the life of a student nurse. I just can’t express how excited I am to get started. All the nerves of how hard it’s going to be have whittled away leaving me wishing it was September already. I know wishing your life away is very bad but hey, it’s not like it’s gonna happen. The hand washing exercise was a bit of an eye opener too!!
The facilities at Wolves School of Health are very impressive and the support mechanisms they have in place for students take away any fears.
Looking forward to hearing about an interview now and getting that out of the way, I guess that’s going to be in January or February now.
Wishing everyone a very happy holidays and a successful 2008
Neal
