 A Bit about ME
Well what to say im a nearly 32 yr old single parent of a 3 yr old little girl. I have been working in the NHS as a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology for 8 1/2yrs.
I have always wanted to be able to help people and although i love my job that im doing just now i needed to find something more "hands on" and challenging. Before i got my job as BMS i had thought about being nurse but i felt that all the studying that i had previously done was geared towards the scientific side of things and felt i would be letting myself down if i didnt try and get a job in the micro field.
Like i said i love my job but thats it its a job so i decided to fulfill my dream of being a nurse. It all started in January of this year - I had to suss it all out financially first its gonna be really tight and we are gonna have to go without a few a luxuries but it will be well worth it when i am qualified and doing a job i hopefully will find rewarding and fulfilling.
So i passed the interview and occy health and secured my place at Napier Uni studying Adult Nursing (shortned course for graduates) and now the nerves are kicking in. What if i have made a mistake? what if i dont like it? what if its too hard? what if i dont like the placements? what if i cant make the money stretch? so many what ifs but my god im gonna give it my all 110%. This is my way of making mine and my daughters life better as my goal at the end of it all - well in about 6yrs time is to emigrate to canada.
So thats my story so far - hope it wasnt a babble. I start my course on 29th Sept and i really am looking forward to it nervous as hell but looking forward to a fresh start,learning new things and meeting new people but before i start i have a 2 wk holiday in Alcudia just to recharge the batteries leaving on the 26th Aug - bring it on.
Will write again when i get back cause im sure the nerves will def be kicking in by then.

Hey Laura!
It's really weird without the forum right now! lol Thought I'd respond to you on here though instead of waiting for the forum to get up and running again.
I'm in my 2nd week of the Access to Nursing course at Jewel & Esk College, and I am loving it! I am so glad I decided to take the plunge and go for it! Don't get me wrong, there is so much to take in and it is gonna be hard, but I am so ready for it, and I'm sure you are too! I'm sure everything will work out for you and I hope all goes well on your first day!
