Working Things Out...
Hello! Thank you for beginning to read my diary. I hope the posts I add here will help some people who want to become nurses or at least are thinking about becoming nurses.
My name is Charlotte, I'm a 21 year old mother of one and wife of another! I want to become a nurse for many reasons; primary reason being because I love people and want to help people the best way I can.
I have been making lots of enquiries in the past week with regards to money and how I will support my family whilst I study. I have visited lots of websites and emailed lots of people at different universities.
The best websites were; www.nhspa.gov.uk/sgu, which features a wicked bursary calculator;
www.nhs.uk/careers, which has lost of career informations, and of course;
www.ucas.com, which has all the course providers.
I have also used the www.direct.gov.uk website to guide me in what I may be entitled to money-wise. The universities have been a great help too.
I have decided to train in a Diploma (mainly because I can get more financial help this way) in Adut Nursing. I felt Adult Nursing was right for me because it opens so many other doors when you become a fully qualified and Registered Nurse. I have been filling out my application to UCAS and trying to sort out a reference!
That's it so far, hope I haven't waffled on too much!
