Interview for ARU

Lulu - No i didnt get back in touch with them. When i was in the interview one of the ladies from the wards told me that i would be held to a years contract - which was another factor to why i didnt take it.

I have to say, i wish i hadnt told him i didnt want elderly incase it goes against me later on, as i am now going to be studying at the same hospital, therefore will probably get placed on the exact same ward. Oh well.

Anyway I went for my Anglia Ruskin interview on the 10th Dec at Victoria House. Had to be there for 13:00.

There were about 5 of us sat there waiting, the nice addmissions lady checked through all of our paper work, qualifications and idenity documents, along with taking out CRB cheques from us.

I was called in at about 13:40, was taken through to a tiny little room with two ladies. They introduced themselves as lecturers of the Peterborough campus (Where im hoping to go). So it was nice to meet people i may see later on.

They started by the usual "tell us about yourself", then asked me about my beauty, then asked how i would help to keep the women on wards happy, anf how to help with maintaining their sense of feminity. Then i went off on one, talking about how i can relate beauty therapy traits to nursing, my basic knowledge of nursing, how i know its not all glamour and fun etc.

Then when i asked if they wanted to know more, they said "youve just answered all of our questions!!" They asked if i had any questions to which i jokingly said "I think i may have answered my questions myself" to which we had a bit of a giggle to.

5 mins later after waiting very anxiously in the waiting area, i was given a conditional offer for March 09 start. My conditions were that i needed to pass CRB (i will do), copies of all documents/id (Done that), and my second reference (also done).

So thats it!! I think im in! Cant believe it. Thank goodness i didnt take the HCA job, as it would have been hard to get a reference, and i would have been held to the 1 year contract.

Oh my goodness i cannot wait. Lets just hope everything goes to plan eh! X
